Attending the meeting, on behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, there were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the school, leaders of the Department of Cooperation and Development, Department of Scientific Research Management, Department of Training, Center for Communication and Information Technology of the Faculty of Psychology, and the Faculty of Sociology.
On the side of Indiana University, there was the participation of Dr. John Baumann - Vice President for Research Compliance, Office of Research Compliance, Indiana University (USA) and representatives of the PHER project.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Indiana University (USA) and representatives of the PHER project.
At the meeting, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities discussed and received advice from experts from Indiana University on the establishment of a Research Ethics Council of the school, a new model in Vietnam. Representatives from Indiana University highly appreciated the fact that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is one of the pioneering universities in Vietnam to establish a Research Ethics Council.
The Research Ethics Council is an organization that has the function of independently and accurately reviewing the ethical aspects of research on human subjects after the topic has been approved by specialized departments or funding agencies and before starting to implement the research. Accordingly, the Research Ethics Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU has the authority to review the ethical aspects of research managed, chaired or jointly conducted by the University; research conducted by organizations and individuals outside the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam upon request.
At the meeting, the two sides also informed about the exchange of lecturers in PHER training programs.
Previously, during a direct working session at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU in March 2023, representatives of the two units discussed cooperation opportunities, connecting universities with businesses such as: Career guidance, Alumni Association; Innovation and creativity; Business connection... Representatives of VNU-USSH and Indiana discussed and had many similar views on building a Research Support Center model with the function of supporting the implementation of research projects, prestigious international publications, establishing a unit equivalent to the Ethics Council, training to improve the capacity of researchers...
