New Year Greetings from the School Principal

On the occasion of the New Year 2011 and the upcoming Spring of Tan Mao, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the school, I would like to respectfully send my best wishes to all teachers, staff, civil servants and students studying and working at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.Dear teachers, dear students! Inheriting and promoting the fine traditions of the former University of Literature and the University of General Sciences, based on the achievements of the previous year, in 2010, the staff and students of the school continued to strive and achieved many proud achievements in the fields of activities from training, scientific research to international cooperation and training links. In 2010, the school also had many important events, including the successful organization of the 26th Party Congress, creating conditions for the school to enter a new stage of development. In particular, last November, generations of teachers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi were very happy and solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi University of Letters, the predecessor of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities today, and received the Ho Chi Minh Medal - a very noble award from the Party and the State. Many groups and individuals in the school were also honored to receive the Labor Medal and Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister. Closing the year 2010, all of us - the staff, lecturers and students of the school are extremely happy and proud of the achievements we have made. On behalf of the school's leadership, I would like to warmly congratulate and express my most sincere thanks to all the staff, civil servants and students of the school who have continuously tried, enthusiastically contributed their intelligence and strength to excellently complete the assigned tasks throughout the past year. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to the Party, State agencies, the Ministry of Education and Training, Hanoi National University, universities, research institutes, agencies, unions, organizations at the central level and in Hanoi, international organizations, teachers, scientists and managers both inside and outside the school for their great attention and support, contributing greatly to the very proud achievements of the school in 2010. Dear teachers, dear students! Entering 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continues to strive to achieve the goal of improving the quality of training, accelerating the level of international integration, building the school towards a research university, striving to bring the school into the top 200 universities in Asia in the next decade. To achieve that goal, the school's staff and students need to make efforts to perform well the following key tasks: 1. Further deploy the credit-based training method, effectively implement international training programs, expand international training links to rapidly improve training quality. 2. Continue to develop and deploy more large-scale, highly interdisciplinary scientific and technological tasks; improve the effectiveness of scientific research activities to meet the socio-economic development requirements of the country, the capital and serve training tasks. 3. Promote international cooperation, prioritizing links with high-ranking universities to learn from experience, access knowledge, improve training quality and the reputation of the school. 4. Strengthen discipline and order in studying and working; cultivate teachers' ethics; create a community cultural environment, quality culture to ensure sustainable development and successful international integration. I believe that, with the strength of the long tradition and achievements, with the spirit of solidarity and high determination, together with the unity and solidarity of all generations of staff and students; the support and assistance of individuals, agencies and organizations at home and abroad, our University of Social Sciences and Humanities will certainly achieve many more great achievements, contributing worthily to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. Once again, I would like to wish all teachers, staff and all students of the school a new year of good health, happiness and success!
