At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) said that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities. In 1995, the University established the Department of Japanese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and conducted undergraduate training in Japanese studies. Among the University's partners, the Rector affirmed that Japan is always an important partner in the international cooperation development strategy. The University has close relations with Japanese universities such as the University of Tokyo, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Osaka University, Showa Women's University, Waseda University, etc.
In response, on behalf of Meiji University, Prof. Takumi Takeda thanked the warm welcome of the USSH and proposed a number of cooperation activities between the two sides through a number of cooperative activities such as student and lecturer exchanges, and implementing joint training programs. Prof. Takumi Takeda also proposed signing a memorandum of cooperation between Meiji University and the Faculty of International Studies, the Faculty of Political Science and the Faculty of Sociology, and will provide 3 annual scholarships for students of the USSH.
Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh pledged to create the best conditions for the two institutions to soon sign a cooperation agreement. The Cooperation and Development Department will be the focal point between the two sides.

The aim of Meiji University is to establish “Global Common Knowledge” where people from all over the world can gather to achieve success in research and education. Meiji University will provide degree programs in English as well as improve the quality of Japanese language education.
