Implementing the Training Program for leaders at the department, district, commune levels and equivalent according to the regulations issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ly Son District Party Committee proposed to VNU-Hanoi to implement a knowledge training course with practical content and most closely meeting the training needs of district Party Committee officials. This proposal was assigned by VNU-Hanoi to IPAM for direct implementation. This class has 110 students.
The specific objective of the training course is to supplement and update modern and practical knowledge on work and leadership and management skills so that district-level leaders can fulfill their assigned duties well. The training course also contributes to raising the responsibility and awareness in performing public duties of the leadership and management team. This activity is even more meaningful in the context of current regional and international integration, the role of local leaders and managers is becoming increasingly important. The task of improving the quality of leadership and management human resources, especially cadres at the department, commune and equivalent levels, is always of interest to local leaders.
UMBRELLAMr. Tran Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee,Head of the Steering Committee for the Development of Ly Son District spoke at the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Minh - Deputy Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the Development of Ly Son District - expressed his hope that the trainees will apply new knowledge and skills, contributing to changing the mindset and working methods in implementing the socio-economic development tasks of the locality in the coming time.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Director of the Institute of Policy and Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU also expressed his hope that IPAM will continue to implement other cooperative activities with the locality, focusing on seminars and training courses to serve the goal of fostering knowledge for policy makers in Ly Son island district.

The training course took place from February 28 to March 3, with the participation of leading researchers and experts in policy analysis, marine and island economics, etc. Students focused on practicing teamwork skills through 4 specific topics on economic development and marine and island tourism associated with ensuring security, national defense, and sustainable development. Students listened to theories and practices, discussed contents related to the implementation of socio-economic development goals, in order to promote local strengths, and build Ly Son as an attractive destination for tourists and investors. At the end of the course, students completed a report on the synchronous implementation of local strengths development issues and received a certificate issued by the Institute of Policy and Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi.
The success of the course continues to affirm the reputation of the Institute of Policy and Management as a leading training institution, a pioneer in providing training programs, fostering leadership, management and policy-making skills for ministries, departments and provinces nationwide.
