Receiving delegation from Saga University (Japan)

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) said that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities. In 1995, the University established the Department of Japanese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and conducted undergraduate and doctoral training in Japanese studies. Among the University's partners, the Rector affirmed that Japan is always an important partner in the international cooperation development strategy. The University has close relations with Japanese universities such as the University of Tokyo, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Osaka University, and Showa Women's University.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) introduced the University to the delegation of Saga University.

In response, Prof. Noboru Takisawa, on behalf of Saga University, thanked the warm welcome of the USSH and proposed a number of cooperation activities between the two sides through a number of cooperative activities such as student and lecturer exchanges and implementing joint training programs. Saga University wishes to cooperate with Vietnamese universities, including the USSH, to train and attract human resources to serve the production of small and medium-sized agricultural products in Japan.

To contribute to the realization of the above ideas, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh proposed that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Saga University sign a cooperation memorandum in the near future. The Office of Cooperation and Development will be the focal point between the two sides.

Saga University was founded in 1920 through the merger of the old Saga University and Saga Medical University, and consists of five faculties: Faculty of Culture and Education, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Science and Technology, and Faculty of Agriculture. In terms of postgraduate training, there are the Faculty of Educational Studies, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Agricultural Studies, Faculty of Medical Studies, and Faculty of Science and Technology. Saga University currently has collaborative relationships with about 120 universities around the world and has a foreign student population of approximately 5%.
