The conference will serve as a forum for renowned professors, historians, and experts from Vietnam to share and discuss lessons learned from the shared historical memories between Morocco and Vietnam. Representatives from the Vietnam Veterans Association and the Moroccan Resistance Committee and former members of the Liberation Army will also participate. Following the conference will be a visit to the "Morocco Gate" in Tan Linh, Ba Vi, an architectural landmark built between 1958 and 1960 by Moroccan soldiers who defected from the French army to join the Viet Minh during the Indochina War.
Professor Pham Quang Minh welcomed the Moroccan Embassy's idea of organizing the seminar and considered it a good opportunity to expand relations between the University and foreign partners. On behalf of the University, the Rector pledged to create the best conditions for the seminar to be successful and have a widespread impact. The Cooperation and Development Office will serve as the liaison between the two sides.

Vietnam and Morocco established diplomatic relations on March 27, 1961. Currently, both countries have embassies in each other's capitals. Mr. Azzeddine Farhane officially began his term as Ambassador of Morocco to Vietnam on February 20, 2017.
