At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh introduced the internationalization strategy and expansion of international relations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In relation to Canada, the University has organized many practical activities. For example, welcoming high-ranking politicians such as former Governor General of Canada David Johnston and Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne, famous Canadian speakers such as Ivan Coyote; promoting research, teaching, and translation of learning materials about the country and people of Canada; maintaining cooperation with Canadian universities such as Humber College and Langara University.
For Laval University, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is planning to implement a number of activities such as organizing seminars and workshops with the participation of lecturers and researchers from the partner side; exchanging students and trainees; especially building a joint master's training program in International Relations. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh believes that the two schools have many prospects for cooperation based on similarities in fields of study, especially international relations and political science.

On behalf of the host country, Ms. Sophie D'Amours highly appreciated the efforts and ideas that representatives of the two universities have been implementing. She also proposed organizing online courses to diversify the training forms and environments. The President of Laval University expressed her strong belief in the Vietnam-Canada educational cooperation in general and the cooperation between the two universities in particular, as demonstrated during the visit of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to Laval University in June 2018.
Laval University was founded in 1663 and is located in Quebec City, Canada. It was the first university to offer French-language education in North America. More than 42,500 students, including 5,600 international students from 110 countries, are studying and researching here. Laval University currently offers nearly 400 programs in 19 faculties in the fields of arts, languages, science and technology, social sciences, business administration, and health.
