Former teachers share joy about the School's successes in 2018

The annual meeting with former teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held on January 21 brought a joyful and warm atmosphere on the threshold of the new year.

The school could not have achieved its position and role today without the contributions of many generations of former teachers through the stages of development - Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) emphasized at the meeting.

2018 is a special year with many highlights for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - the Rector shared information with former teachers. For the first time, the University welcomed 2,034 new students to enroll in 24 undergraduate training programs, many of which have very high admission scores. Although the Southeast Asian Studies program has just opened, it has attracted the attention of learners and welcomed 80 students in the first course. This proves that the University is still receiving high appreciation from society for its training quality.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Ham - Vice President of the School's Alumni Association shared about the Association's activities in 2018.

Regarding postgraduate training, the School recruited 55 PhD students and more than 400 graduate students - this is a remarkable number in the context of postgraduate training in general nationwide facing many difficulties.

Regarding scientific research, the number of international publications has increased to an all-time high of 80 articles, including 22 articles published in high-impact journals. The number of key topics at all levels of the School has never been as high as it is now, thereby affirming the high professional capacity of the staff.

Aiming to build a research-oriented and autonomous university, the University has made innovations: establishing the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training - the first training and research institute model of the University; reviewing the organizational structure and operations of units towards streamlining, compactness and efficiency; opening high-quality training majors towards socialization; promoting international cooperation by signing cooperation agreements with 40 partners, implementing more international projects and promoting exchanges of lecturers and students with foreign universities...

Veteran teachers receive congratulations and gratitude from the School

Along with the creativity and innovation in operations, the income of the staff has improved. Teachers have more confidence in the future and development direction of the School.

Sharing joy with the above achievements of the School, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Ham - Vice President of the School's Alumni Association - also shared about a year of effective activities of the Alumni Association.

2018 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities Alumni Association for the third term (2017-2022). The former teachers not only actively participate in the common activities of the VNU Alumni Association but also actively work, leaving many marks in training and scientific research at the units. The Association also successfully organized field trips and visits to historical sites of the country, thereby supporting professional activities and creating cohesion among members.

Dr. Tran Bach Hieu - Secretary of the School Youth Union presented flowers to congratulate the former teachers

The school also congratulated and gave gifts to former teachers who turned 80, 85 and 90. This is the school's gratitude to the teachers - generations of staff who have contributed to the development of the school today.
