Former faculty members shared their joy about the school's successes in 2018.

The annual gathering of former faculty members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, held on January 21st, brought a joyful and warm atmosphere on the eve of the new year.

"The university could not have achieved its current position and role without the contributions of many generations of former faculty members throughout its development," Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) emphasized at the meeting.

2018 was a special year with many milestones for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - the Rector shared information with former faculty members. For the first time, the University welcomed 2,034 new students enrolling in 24 undergraduate programs, many of which had very high entrance scores. The Southeast Asian Studies program, although newly opened, has already attracted attention and welcomed its first cohort of 80 students. This demonstrates that the University continues to receive high praise from society for the quality of its education.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Ham - Vice President of the University's Retired Teachers Association, shared about the Association's activities in 2018.

Regarding postgraduate training, the university has recruited 55 doctoral candidates and over 400 master's students – a remarkable achievement given the challenges facing postgraduate training nationwide.

In terms of scientific research, the number of internationally published articles has reached an all-time high of 80, including 22 published in high-impact journals. The number of key research projects at all levels within the university has never been higher, thus affirming the high professional competence of the faculty.

Aiming to build a research-oriented and autonomous university, the School has implemented several innovations: establishing the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training – the first training and research institute of the School; reviewing the organizational structure and operations of units towards streamlining, efficiency, and effectiveness; opening high-quality training programs based on socialized approaches; strengthening international cooperation by signing cooperation agreements with 40 partners, implementing more international projects, and promoting the exchange of lecturers and students with foreign universities...

The veteran teachers received congratulations and expressions of gratitude from the school.

Along with innovations and improvements in operations, the income of the staff has improved. Teachers have gained more confidence in the future and development direction of the school.

Sharing in the joy of the school's achievements, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Ham – Vice President of the School's Retired Teachers Association – also shared about a year of highly effective activities of the Retired Teachers Association.

2018 marked the first year of implementing the Resolution of the Association of Retired Faculty of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, term III (2017-2022). Retired faculty members not only actively participated in the general activities of the Association of Retired Faculty of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, but also actively contributed significantly to training and scientific research at various units. The Association also successfully organized field trips and visits to historically significant sites across the country, thereby supporting professional activities and fostering camaraderie among members.

Dr. Tran Bach Hieu - Secretary of the School's Youth Union, presented flowers to congratulate the retired teachers.

The school also congratulated and presented gifts to retired teachers who turned 80, 85, and 90. This is a token of gratitude from the school to the teachers – generations of staff who have contributed to the development of the school today.
