
The annual New Year's gathering of the Board of Directors and all staff at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a tradition. This is an opportunity for faculty and staff to share the joy of the new year, wish each other well, and look forward to a year filled with expectations.

Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University) extended New Year greetings to all teachers and their families. He reviewed the outstanding achievements of the University in the past year: recruiting over 2,000 students into 24 undergraduate programs; continuously improving the quality of education, with the University opening many new majors/specializations to meet social needs; promoting the standardization of management and administration in education; making strong progress in international publications; significantly increasing the number and quality of scientific research projects; and deepening the quality assurance activities in education, contributing to building a culture of quality throughout the university... The Rector also expressed his hope for even greater successes for the University this year.

The University has a strong team of female leaders at both the university and unit levels, making significant contributions to the overall success of the University.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Rector of the University) and the faculty members of the Training Department. Despite celebrating the Lunar New Year, the faculty members of the Training Department are also busily preparing for the 2019 undergraduate and postgraduate admissions season. This year, for the first time, the University is offering Japanese Studies programs, bringing the total number of undergraduate programs to 25.

Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Head of the Personnel Department, President of the University's Trade Union - third from the right) with staff from the Personnel Department, the Political and Student Affairs Department, and the Trade Union Office. The University's Trade Union had a brilliantly successful year with many notable achievements: organizing the first-ever fashion and style contest for staff "Colors of Humanities", winning first prize in the VNU Trade Union singing competition, second prize in the VNU Trade Union men's football competition... Trade union activities are increasingly closely aligned with the needs and aspirations of union members.

The School Board took a photo with the staff of the Planning and Finance Department. The planning and finance activities also had a successful year, contributing to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school and helping to increase the income of the staff.

Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University) and Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University), along with staff from the Cooperation and Development Department, were present. Last year, the University's international cooperation activities achieved many successes: signing more than 40 new official cooperation agreements with partners; effectively implementing many international cooperation projects; sending hundreds of staff and students to study, teach, intern, and exchange at foreign universities; successfully organizing 13 major international conferences; and welcoming many foreign student delegations to study short-term courses at the University.

In the near future, the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training will implement its first socialized training program and open a Master's program in Journalism Management and Communication Administration. The Institute is also the only unit in the country to offer two undergraduate programs: Journalism and Public Relations.

The Rector shared his joy with the staff of the Faculty of International Studies. Last year, the Faculty of International Studies welcomed its first cohort of students in the International Development Studies specialization. The Faculty is a pioneer in training this new specialization nationwide with the support of the Irish Embassy.
