On September 27, 2011, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, Rector of the University, met and worked with Professor Takashi Shimizu (University of Science and Arts - University of Tokyo - Japan). During the meeting, both sides exchanged and discussed specific details regarding the upcoming implementation of the Japan Research Support Program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: the content of the short-term student exchange cooperation agreement between the two universities, and the schedule for the opening of the Japan Research Support Office in Vietnam, located at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

During the meeting, both sides exchanged and discussed specific details regarding the upcoming implementation of the Japan Research Support Program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: the content of the short-term student exchange cooperation agreement between the two universities, and the schedule for the opening of the Japan Research Support Office in Vietnam, located at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).It is expected that the two sides will officially sign the agreement next October, and the training and cooperation activities of the Office will officially begin. At the meeting, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh thanked the University of Tokyo for its interest in helping the university establish the Office for Supporting Japanese Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The project will provide opportunities for the Japanese Studies program at the University to develop further and gradually build a master's program in Japanese Studies, aiming to make the Japanese Studies program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities a leading, internationally recognized field of study. With the implementation of this cooperation program, many students will have the opportunity to study and conduct research in Japan, and some experts from Japan will also directly come to teach and exchange academic knowledge at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
