The Global Conference on Social Work and Social Development will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from July 8-12, 2012. This conference aims to welcome researchers, educators, policymakers, and social service organizations in the field of social work and social development. The main purpose of the conference is to introduce and share new perspectives and knowledge, as well as share lessons learned from successes and failures in the field of social work and social development globally.The Conference Organizing Committee is currently sending out invitations for papers to be submitted to the Conference on the following topics:

Article abstract submission deadlineBefore November 30, 2011. Participants can present in one of two ways: oral presentation or poster presentation.
Guide to writing article summariesThe abstract should include an overview of the research problem, objectives, a brief description of the methods, results, and conclusions. The abstract should aim to answer the following questions:
- What is the research problem and what are the research objectives?
- What methods did the author use to solve the problem?
- What are the main findings of the study?
- What conclusions can be drawn from those research findings?
Criteria for evaluating article summariesThe following criteria will be used to assess the suitability of the summaries, including those related to practices, policies, and services.
- Compatibility: Is the topic relevant to the conference agenda?
- Contribution of knowledge:Does the summary build upon and expand upon previous theories/research or share practical experiences?
- Creation:Are the research findings up-to-date, innovative, and geared towards promoting social work and social development?
- Clarity:Is the summary clear and does it include all the essential information?
