Receiving and working with the delegation from the Institute of International Relations (Taiwan – China)

On the afternoon of August 5, 2015, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University) received and worked with a delegation from the Institute of International Relations and several universities and research institutes in Taiwan, led by Dr. Dinh Thu Pham – Director of the Institute of International Relations (Taiwan).

During the meeting, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the history of training and research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, highlighting its position as a leading institution for training in social sciences in Vietnam. The university is strengthening its international standing by promoting training, publishing activities, and especially international relations. The Vice Rector proposed cooperation between the university and the Institute of International Relations and partners in Taiwan through joint research projects and student exchanges.

On behalf of the delegation, Dr. Dinh Thu Pham expressed his delight at the warm welcome from the University. He also welcomed the proposal from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh and stated that the Institute wishes to cooperate extensively with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in research and training.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that the university is ready to welcome international students in general, and Taiwanese students in particular, to study and research the Vietnamese language and culture.

The Taiwan Institute of International Studies (IIR), established in 1953, is Taiwan's leading research institute on international relations and Chinese studies. The institute specializes in Taiwan-China relations, Chinese politics, Asian regionalism, European integration, Sino-American relations, East Asian security, and international law.
