The Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ministry of Education and Training.

Attending and directing the Conference were Dr. Nguyen Thi Nghia - Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Head of the Committee for the Advancement of Women in the Industry, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Thi Thanh, Member of the Presidium, Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The conference was attended by leaders of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, representatives of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, Chairmen or Vice Chairmen, Heads of the Women's Unions of Education Trade Unions of provinces and cities, Trade Unions of National Universities, Regional Universities, colleges, universities and affiliated units. Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi Minh Loan - Vice Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Head of the Women's Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities also attended the conference.

The conference was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Ho Chi Minh City National University. There were more than 200 delegates who were Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, officers and outstanding union members from the Education Trade Unions of provinces and cities, the Trade Unions of National Universities, Regional Universities, the Trade Unions of Universities, Colleges, and units under the Vietnam Education Trade Union.

At the Conference, delegates listened to reports, discussed and reached a high consensus on the results of trade union activities in the past school year, the key tasks in the coming school year, the results of the process of donating to support education in especially difficult areas presented by the leaders of the Vietnam Education Trade Union; the results of organizing the emulation movement "Good at school work - Good at housework" in the period 2010 - 2015; listened to the dissemination of some new information related to education inspection work presented by comrade Nguyen Huy Bang - Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Hoang Thi Thanh - on behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor acknowledged the achievements of the Vietnam Education Trade Union in the past school year and emphasized a number of key tasks in the coming school year. In particular, focusing on:

- Improve the quality of grassroots and school union activities.

- Improve capacity for union officials at all levels.

- Improve the capacity of teachers and workers, proactively approach educational innovation, meet the requirements of the industry and society.

- Continue to carry out the task of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of teachers and workers in the context that each teacher and worker is actively working with the education sector to meet the strict requirements and demands of society.

- Promote the effectiveness of information and propaganda channels through trade union organizations in educational institutions.

At the Conference, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was honored to receive the following awards:

• Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for outstanding achievements in the 2014-2015 school year;
• Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Good at school - Good at housework" in the period 2010 - 2015;
• Certificate of Merit from Vietnam Education Trade Union for 02 departmental trade unions: Trade Union I of the Head Office Block and Trade Union of the Faculty of Literature;
• Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Education Trade Union for 02 individuals: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Party Secretary, Vice Principal of the School and Comrade Do Tien Thang - lecturer of the Faculty of Literature, former Chairman of the Faculty of Literature Trade Union.
