Press & Media 2-1 Library Information:The war to prolong dreams
The UCL quarter-final 2 ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of the boys from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication. On a day when both teams were evenly matched, only a little bit of luck helped Journalism and Communication, after many years, to be present in the round of 4 strongest teams.
Minh Phuc's golden goal (number 14) helped the Faculty of Journalism and Communication overcome Library Information.
Sociology 7-0 International Studies: A Stroll in C500
As expected, the match between Sociology and International Studies was a one-sided affair, favoring the runner-up team from last season. Facing an opponent with superior technique and tactics, International Studies had to accept leaving the tournament with a heavy defeat.
Facing an opponent who was stronger in every aspect, QTH proactively chose a defensive style of play to minimize the opponent's attack. However, under the constant pressure of the reigning runner-up, QTH could not maintain concentration. In just 5 minutes (15 to 19), Bui Van Manh alone scored a double to help XHH easily take a 2-0 lead in the first half.
In the second half, QTH players were forced to raise their formation to find an equalizer. Switching from defense to attack, QTH was quickly drawn into XHH's short passing style. QTH quickly lost strength and exposed many weaknesses. In the second half, XHH continued to score 5 more goals against QTH.
Despite their best efforts, the International Studies defenders (in yellow shirts) had to watch as the Social Studies players showed off their skills and scored.
Literature 2-1 Management Science: The Earthquake Called Literature
The Faculty of Literature team just created an earthquake when they defeated the Faculty of Management Science, which was confidently moving forward. Known as a team with a style of play that helped them stay undefeated since the beginning of the tournament, the Faculty of Management Science entered the quarter-finals with the same style of play from the beginning of the tournament. Still Van Hoa, Duy Phong on the two wings, Minh Phuc playing the lowest; captain Trung Kien controlling the midfield area; and the "Dang Sac + 1" tactic (Van Ky, Xuan Tung, Duy Thai always took turns playing as a striker with Dang Sac).
This style of play may be good against opponents with an attacking tendency like Sociology and History, but when facing a team with a good central defender and a solid defensive style of play like the Faculty of Literature, this style of play clearly shows its inability.
Facing an opponent who used physical strength and power against him, Management Science showed confusion, and when the opponent had a striker who was extremely good at aerial combat, Management Science showed slowness in coming up with a counter-measure.
Management Science is still good but can't be better. As for Literature, they were better than themselves in the group stage and that's why, in this quarter-final, they created an earthquake, burying Management Science.
The aerial battles of the striker wearing the number 9 shirt on the Literature side were a nightmare for Management Science in the quarter-final match.
