Summary of Union work in 2012

The conference to review the work of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' trade union in 2012 took place on January 25, 2012. The conference listened to the report on the results of the school's trade union activities last year and discussed the contents and orientations for the next school year.Accordingly, the School's Trade Union has performed its functions and tasks well, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the school's school year tasks. The activities of the Trade Union revolve around 5 main tasks, including: protecting the legitimate rights and interests and taking care of the lives of staff; improving the professional ethics and professional qualifications of teachers and educational managers, in order to carry out the task of innovation and improving the quality of education and training of the sector; mobilizing organizations and actively participating in emulation movements and large-scale social movements to effectively carry out the political tasks of the sector; innovating the organization, strengthening inspection and evaluation to improve the quality of staff; expanding and improving the effectiveness of the external activities of the trade union organization. Specifically, the School's Trade Union Executive Committee has been proactive and active in taking care of staff's lives: participating in giving opinions and adjusting the Internal Spending Regulations to ensure improving the quality of staff's lives; timely visit and encourage staff facing difficult circumstances, propose emergency allowances for 29 staff, plan to establish a Fund to support staff in the coming time... The Union coordinates with the government to effectively implement directives and resolutions of the Party, the State, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on building and improving the moral qualities of teachers; coordinates with the government in planning staff, training staff to gradually standardize the staff of the School. In particular, the Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is recognized as a strong unit with many innovations in organizing emulation movements, industry campaigns, celebrating major holidays of the country such as: organizing a cooking and flower arrangement contest on the occasion of International Women's Day; organizing a ceremony to honor the academic achievements of children of staff; organizing visits and giving gifts to wounded soldiers at the Nho Quan and Liem Can seriously wounded war centers; Cooperated with the Youth Union to successfully organize the contest “Singing about the borders and islands of the homeland”; coordinated with the Trade Union of the University of Natural Sciences – VNU to organize the Open Tennis Tournament for two schools; coordinated with the Trade Union of the 5 universities to organize gift giving for 600 students and 60 teachers of Bac Kan province with difficult circumstances... Also in 2012, the School Trade Union admitted 19 new union members and introduced 12 union members to join the Party.
