Summary of Trade Union activities in 2012

The conference summarizing the trade union activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2012 took place on January 25, 2012. The conference heard reports on the trade union's activities over the past year and discussed the contents and directions for the upcoming academic year.Accordingly, the School's Trade Union has effectively fulfilled its functions and duties, making a significant contribution to the successful implementation of the School's tasks for the academic year. The Union's activities revolve around five main tasks: protecting the legitimate rights and interests and caring for the well-being of staff; improving the professional ethics and expertise of teachers and educational administrators to implement the task of innovation and improving the quality of education and training in the sector; organizing and actively participating in emulation movements and large-scale social campaigns to effectively carry out the sector's political tasks; reforming the organization, strengthening inspection and evaluation work to improve the quality of staff; and expanding and improving the effectiveness of the trade union's external relations activities. Specifically, the School's Trade Union Executive Committee has been proactive and active in caring for the well-being of staff: participating in providing feedback and adjusting the internal expenditure regulations to ensure improved living standards for staff; The union promptly visited and encouraged staff facing difficult circumstances, proposed emergency hardship allowances for 29 staff members, and planned to establish a fund to support staff in the near future… The union coordinated with the administration to effectively implement directives and resolutions of the Party, State, Ministry of Education and Training, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on building and improving the moral qualities of teachers; it also coordinated with the administration in staff planning and training, gradually standardizing the university's staff. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' Union was recognized as a strong and innovative unit in organizing emulation movements and campaigns of the sector, commemorating major national holidays such as: organizing a cooking and flower arrangement competition on International Women's Day; organizing a ceremony to honor the academic achievements of staff children; and organizing visits and gift-giving to war invalids at the Nho Quan and Liem Can centers for severely wounded soldiers. In coordination with the Youth Union, the union successfully organized the "Singing about the Border and Islands of the Homeland" competition; in collaboration with the Trade Union of the University of Science - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, it organized the Open Tennis Tournament between the two universities; and in collaboration with the Trade Union of the cluster of 5 universities, it organized the donation of gifts to 600 students and 60 teachers in Bac Kan province who are in difficult circumstances… Also in 2012, the university's Trade Union admitted 19 new union members and recommended 12 members for Party membership.
