New Year's greetings letter 2013 from the Principal

Dear teachers, staff, students and pupils!Despite many difficulties, 2012 has marked a successful year for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The University has not only maintained its position and stabilized all aspects of its activities, but has also continued to innovate and move forward in many areas. Training activities have increasingly promoted the advantages of the credit training method, significantly increasing the quality of training. The University has also completed the adjustment of 22 undergraduate training programs and 52 postgraduate training programs according to output standards; built many new training programs (Public Relations; Anthropology; Theory, history and criticism of cinema and television art; Science and Technology Management) to meet social needs. Teaching, testing and evaluation activities have many improvements in the direction of enhancing the positivity and initiative of teachers and learners. Scientific research activities not only continue to promote the strengths of basic science but also focus on building and implementing applied research topics for socio-economic development of the country and locality. The school has been actively participating in planning and advising Party and State agencies on policies for the development of science, education, society and people; affirming its scientific reputation through the successful construction of 09 independent topics at the State level, 10 topics under the National Science and Technology Fund and dozens of topics and research projects at other levels. The school's staff have published more than 600 scientific articles, including 32 international articles; successfully organized more than 20 scientific conferences of national and international stature, highly appreciated by public opinion. In particular, in 2012, 05 teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology, bringing the total number of teachers of the University receiving these noble awards to 24. This is a rare achievement for universities in Vietnam and a great source of pride for generations of staff and students of the entire University. Also in the past school year, the University completed the construction and implementation of four major work programs for the period 2011-2015, aiming to develop the activities of the University in depth, better meet the requirements of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country, and soon bring the University into the top of advanced universities in Asia and the world. The above results are thanks to the dedication and high sense of responsibility of the scientists; the efforts and outstanding efforts of each cadre, each teacher, student and trainee in teaching, working and studying; the close guidance and timely attention and encouragement of the leaders of the Party, State and Government towards a leading university and pillar of the country in Social Sciences and Humanities. Delighted with such trust and entrustment, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is determined to promote the strength of collective solidarity, creativity, proactiveness, and successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and society, worthy of being the leading address for high-quality training and scientific research in the country, contributing more to the socio-economic development of the country, rapidly promoting the integration process into higher education in the region and the world. Entering the new year 2013, with many new opportunities and challenges awaiting, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with its core motto: Innovation - Quality - Discipline, will focus on rapidly developing a team of qualified lecturers; continue to expand and improve the quality of training in majors/specializations to international standards, high-quality training programs, international joint programs with prestigious universities in the world to quickly internationalize and improve the training quality of the University; deploy research and create high-quality scientific products to serve the training tasks of the University and meet the requirements of socio-economic development of the country and the Capital; comprehensively innovate university management and administration, focusing on innovating administrative management according to ISO standards... I believe that, with a high sense of responsibility for the industry and the affection for the University, the collective of staff, civil servants, students and trainees of the University will be united, unanimous, proactive in overcoming challenges, well performing the tasks of 2013, leading the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to continue to develop rapidly and sustainably. On the occasion of the New Year, I would like to send to all teachers, staff, scientists, and all students and trainees of the University my warmest regards and best wishes for good health, peace, happiness and success.
