Seeing the image of a smart, quick-witted, and confident student social work team leader, few would know that when she was a high school student, she was also very shy, insecure, and harbored many invisible fears.
The little girl has a warm heart and a passion for helping others. One thing that sets me apart from most of my classmates is that, initially, all my choices were for Social Work. Honestly, at the time, I simply thought I enjoyed helping others, and I also took some self-assessment tests to understand myself better. The career guidance suggested Social Work, so I chose it. Now, as a third-year student, my understanding of the field has broadened considerably.
For me, social work is an incredibly interesting and humane field because it pursues the goals of human welfare, happiness, and social progress. As an applied science and a professional activity, it aims to help vulnerable groups solve problems, improve their problem-solving abilities, and effectively fulfill their social functions.

People often confuse social work with volunteering. Actually, that's not quite right. To put it simply, the difference is like giving someone a fish while social work gives them a fishing rod. The sustainability of social work and the mission of the profession are what I've always appreciated and never regretted choosing to study this field.
What makes me love my major even more is that it gave me the opportunity to become a member of the Student Social Work Team. For me, being a "team member" (the affectionate name for my team) is a tremendous honor and source of pride.

Stepping out of your comfort zone is about giving yourself the opportunity to experience new things.Actually, ever since middle and high school, I've really enjoyed volunteering, but I was too shy back then. It wasn't until university that I decided to "break out of my shell," overcome countless fears and give myself the opportunity to experience more. And so I applied to the Student Social Work Team and was fortunate enough to become a member.
Participating in volunteer campaigns with the team has made me feel much more mature and stronger than before. After each volunteer trip, I often fall into a state of emotional attachment for a long time. These volunteer campaigns have given me so many unforgettable experiences and memories. The charitable trips have allowed me to witness and see the countless difficult circumstances and lives out there, making me appreciate and be grateful for my current life even more. In particular, through these programs, the unity and enthusiasm of the volunteers in the team, and the generosity of benefactors, have reinforced my positive beliefs about life – the spirit of mutual support, compassion, and community love.

I also feel very proud. Proud of myself, proud of our Student Social Work Team for always daring to think and act with a passionate, burning heart and unwavering determination and effort on our journey of kindness for over a decade. I think not only I, but all the team members are also very happy after each campaign because we have been able to contribute, experience, and learn so much.
Strive to study and work tirelessly, determined to become a source of pride for your parents. My family's circumstances were just enough to get by, and my siblings were a bit special, so from a young age I understood the immense hardship and pressure my parents faced. Therefore, from childhood until now, I've always strived to do my best in my studies to become a source of pride for them. There was a time when my mother was seriously ill, and the family's finances became quite difficult. At that time, being young, I couldn't help my parents much; I felt helpless and afraid. From that moment on, I promised myself that I would try even harder to study well. When I was little, I simply thought about "making my parents happy," but now that I'm older, I just hope to grow up quickly so I can help them in some way.
Just sharing a little bit, but I've always felt incredibly lucky to be born into a family where everyone loves and supports me, providing me with every opportunity to study and develop. That's a huge motivation for me to keep striving harder every day.

During my studies, I tried various part-time jobs to earn extra income, ease the financial burden on my parents, and gain more experience. I worked as a sushi counter employee at Aeon Mall Long Bien; as a tape removal assistant; and currently, I am a Customer Care Assistant at the Social Work Department of E Hospital. The jobs I've done, with their completely different natures, have all been invaluable experiences and opportunities for me to expand my network, develop myself further in terms of experience, knowledge, skills, and perspective on life.
The perspective is to continuously learn and develop oneself in order to become a useful member of society and the country. In my opinion, to become useful members of society, young people first need to constantly learn and develop themselves. This is both our right and our duty. For students like us, cultivating knowledge and skills, and becoming a professional in our field is a goal that I think every young person strives for – contributing our talents and efforts to the overall development of the country. Besides that, fostering a healthy lifestyle, good habits, self-love and self-care, and personal happiness are also crucial. Because simply being healthy and knowledgeable will spread positivity to those around us – which is also a form of contribution to society.

Young people should also dedicate their youthful energy to social activities such as volunteering and participating in sustainable development campaigns, because this not only helps society become more civilized, equitable, and sustainable, but it will also provide young people with many valuable experiences, lessons, and insights.
