Welcoming a delegation of students from Yunnan Normal University (China) to do an internship at the Faculty of Oriental Studies

On March 12, 2024, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU welcomed a delegation of 09 students majoring in International Chinese Education from Yunnan Normal University (China) to study and practice at the Faculty.
According to Dr. Pham Hoang Hung - Head of the Department of Cooperation and Development, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Yunnan Normal University have a long-standing tradition of cooperation in training and research activities. With the efforts of the leaders of the two universities, student exchange activities have been implemented after a period of interruption due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.
 

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Oriental Studies emphasized that, with its position as the leading training and research institution on Oriental Studies in Vietnam, the Faculty of Oriental Studies under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the destination for many international students to study and research. The delegation of students from Yunnan Normal University will study from March 10 to May 31 at the Faculty of Oriental Studies and from May 9 to July 31 at the Faculty of Linguistics under VNU-USSH with subjects such as: Specialized internship, Specialized internship, Social practice, Social investigation, General Vietnamese, Vietnamese through proverbs and folk songs, Vietnamese - Chinese translation.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong expressed her belief that the students of Yunnan Normal University will have valuable experiences while studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as good memories of the country and people of Vietnam.

Gong Chaolian - Student representative of Yunnan Normal University expressed his gratitude to the teachers of the two universities for creating favorable conditions for international students to study and practice at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as the warm feelings of the teachers and volunteers for the delegation. The time studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be a valuable opportunity for the Yunnan Normal University students to gain new knowledge from the teachers as well as learn and understand more deeply about the culture and people of Vietnam.

International student exchange is a regular activity atFaculty of Oriental Studiesin particular and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU in general. VNU-USSH is the destination of thousands of students from countries across the continents, accounting for 51% of the number of international students studying at VNU. This is the result of long-term, close cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and prestigious universities in the region and around the world.

According to student Le Thi Hong Nhung - Faculty of Oriental Studies, this is a good opportunity for VNU-USSH students to improve their Chinese language skills and cultural exchange between Vietnamese and Chinese students. During the time international students study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, volunteer students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies will always accompany and support the group of interns to have unforgettable experiences at VNU-USSH.
