On March 12, 2024, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, welcomed a group of nine students majoring in International Chinese Language Education from Yunnan Normal University (China) for study and practical training at the Faculty.
According to Dr. Pham Hoang Hung, Head of the Cooperation and Development Department, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Yunnan Normal University have a long tradition of cooperation in training and research activities. Thanks to the efforts of the leaders of both universities, student exchange programs have been implemented after a period of interruption due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr. Pham Hoang Hung - Head of the Cooperation and Development Department, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, delivered a speech at the meeting with Chinese students studying at the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of Oriental Studies, emphasized that, as a leading training and research institution in Oriental Studies in Vietnam, the Department of Oriental Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a destination for many international students to study and conduct research. The student delegation from Yunnan Normal University will study from March 10th to May 31st at the Department of Oriental Studies and from May 9th to July 31st at the Department of Linguistics at VNU-USSH, covering subjects such as: Specialized Internship, Specialized Practical Training, Social Practice, Social Research, Comprehensive Vietnamese Language, Vietnamese Language through Proverbs and Folk Songs, and Vietnamese-Chinese Translation.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong expressed her confidence that the student delegation from Yunnan Normal University would have valuable experiences studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as fond memories of Vietnam and its people.

Gong Chaolian, a student representative from Yunnan Normal University, expressed gratitude to the professors of both universities for providing opportunities for international students to study and intern at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as for the warm welcome extended by the professors and volunteers. The time spent studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be a valuable opportunity for the students from Yunnan Normal University to gain new knowledge from their professors and to learn more about Vietnamese culture and people.
