Outstanding Korean Studies students from VNU-USSH receive scholarships from Lotte Group, South Korea.

At the 31st Scholarship Award Ceremony for the Spring Semester 2023 of the Lotte Foundation (under the Lotte Group, South Korea), held at Lotte Center Hanoi on May 25, 2023, five students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) were awarded valuable scholarships.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Chun Yung Woo, Chairman of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation in Korea; Mr. Kim Gil Su, manager of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation; and representatives from the Political and Student Affairs Departments of the training units within VNU Hanoi.
The 2023 Lotte Scholarship was awarded to 76 outstanding students who demonstrated academic excellence and perseverance from nine prestigious universities in Hanoi, including: Vietnam National University, Hanoi (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Foreign Languages, University of Economics), Hanoi University, Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, National Economics University, Academy of Finance, Thang Long University, and Hanoi Law University. Each scholarship is worth $400.
Among the 12 students from Hanoi National University who received scholarships this time, 5 are students majoring in Korean Studies from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. These are students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have strived to overcome difficulties and achieved excellent academic results.

Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony, Mr. Chun Yung Woo, Chairman of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation, said: "The Lotte Scholarship Foundation still regrets not being able to support more Vietnamese students. The Lotte Scholarship Foundation will continue to expand its scale to help students realize their dreams and contribute to Vietnam's development through nurturing human resources and talent."
"This is one of Lotte Group's annual community activities – a symbol of the good friendship between Korea and Vietnam, and also demonstrates Lotte Group's desire to contribute to community activities and social responsibility. We hope this will be an inspiration to help students overcome difficulties, pursue their passions, and realize their ambitions," Mr. Chun Yung Woo shared.
Student Dinh Van Vien, majoring in Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, expressed his determination to always strive and make every effort in his studies to become an excellent student and aim to achieve many scholarships. Dinh Van Vien stated that at VNU-USSH in particular and Vietnam National University, Hanoi in general, there are many different scholarship funds from the university and various organizations and individuals aimed at supporting students' dreams and aspirations, providing timely assistance in their studies and lives, including the Lotte Foundation.
 
 
 
Five outstanding students majoring in Korean Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have been awarded valuable scholarships from the Lotte Foundation Scholarship Fund.
Established in 1983, the Lotte Foundation awards scholarships to outstanding students and those from disadvantaged backgrounds who have overcome difficulties to achieve high academic and research results. In 2008, the Lotte Foundation scholarship program came to Vietnam and, through its meaningful scholarships, has become a trusted partner for students at prestigious universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
