On April 12th, 2014, University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the granting ceremony of Aeon scholarship for the year 2014-2015. Participating in the ceremony were Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector of USSH), Mr. Hiroshi Yokoo (Senior Executive Officer of Aeon corporation) and Mr Ishikawa Tadahiko (Regional Head at Aeon Vietnam).

On behalf of USSH's board of rectors, Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Kim expressed his gratitude to Aeon Corporation for providing scholarships for USSH’s students to motivate them in their study. He said this proved Aeon’s business thinking focuses on human and considers education as one of its priorities. He also considered this task a meaningful contribution to Vietnam-Japan relations. USSH is in the process of internationalizing its activities, and puts one of its priorities on Japanese studies.

Next, Mr. Hiroshi Yokoo affirmed that one of the goals of Aeon is to help students that overcome their difficulties to be successful in academic and professional pursuit. Aeon hoped these scholarships would contribute to USSH's research activities and promoting Vietnam-Japan student exchanges, thereby improving bilateral relations.

This is the first year Aeon corporation has granted scholarships to Vietnamese students. In 2014-2015, 30 students from 16 faculties and departments also received Aeon scholarships.
