Promoting cooperation in Japanese studies

Under the framework of the project "Feasibility study on promoting academic exchange in Japanese studies between Vietnam, Europe and the US" sponsored by the Toshiba Foundation (Japan), Prof.Dr Harald Fuess (Cluster of Exellence Asia and Europe in a Global Context, University Heidelberg) visited and worked at University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Prof.Dr Fuess has delivered two lectures to students of Division of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies on the topics "German Beer and Meiji Japan: The Modernization of Production and the Westernization of Taste” and "Islands of Memory: Okinawa and Gunkanjima in History and Contemporary Tourist Culture”. In the roundtable discussions, the young researchers and students listened to the Professor's experiences in studying Japan in Europe and received his useful advice.

Trong cuộc gặp mặt với GS.TS. Phạm Quang Minh vào giữa tháng 9 vừa qua, đại diện hai Nhà trường đã trao đổi về hướng đi hợp tác lâu dài giữa hai bên. Hy vọng trong tương lai không xa, Đại học Heidelberg và Đại học Khoa học Xã hội và Nhân văn sẽ không ngừng mở rộng các hoạt động hợp tác mới trong lĩnh vực nghiên cứu và đào tạo Nhật Bản học, đồng thời sẽ định hướng xây dựng thêm khung chương trình hợp tác trên nhiều lĩnh vực khác.
