Seminar on Japanese-Vietnamese cultural exchange 2015

On November 11th, a seminar on cultural exchanges was co-held by the delegation from Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations and Division of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH).

With their foreign language proficiency and knowledge, many prominent students of Division of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies were invited as Vietnamese students to participate in this seminar co-hosted by USSH and the Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations. As representatives of Vietnamese students they expressed their throughts and viewpoints on contemporary cultural and youth issues.

The seminar was divided into 4 main topics: youth culture, Japanese cuisine and globalization, gender equality and public culture. The main participants in this seminar were juniors and seniors and the students majoring Japanese studies that had won a schorlarship to Japan. The students were able to raise their voices on relevant cultural issues and gained a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences between Vietnamese and Japanese cultures.
