Introduction
Center for Foreign Languages and Educational Cooperation was created according to the decision No 971 QD/XHNV-TC signed by Rector of University of Social Sciences and Humanities dated on April 28th, 2006. The Center is tasked with training, providing foreign language certificates and overseas study consultancy.
Main functions and tasks
Improve foreign language capacity for USSH's students: Manage and supervise the compilation of curricula, lectures and the teaching of specialized foreign languages.
Train foreign language skills and confer certificates according to specific needs:
Hold foreign language classes (basic and specialized; fundamental and advanced).
Hold exams and confer certificates of basic and specialized foreign language capacity.
Hold "soft skills" and professional skills courses.
Overseas study consultancy:
Advice self-sufficient overseas students.
Hold pre-study courses for overseas students (interview skills and language capacity training).
Development orientations
Continue to improve the quality, efficiency and scale of specialized foreign language courses for USSH's students.
Promote and increase the application of IT in managing, teaching and examining foreign language capabilities according to the general trends in Vietnam and other regional countries.
Strengthen cooperation in training to meet the requirements of the society, state agencies and businesses in rapidly developing cities and localities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and Hue.

Prominent activities
The Center has held 12 specialized English classes/year for regular students; compile curricula, lectures and hold workshops on teaching specialized foreign language and some international exams for lecturers in Hanoi.
The Center holds annual courses on basic, advanced and specialized English, Korean, and Chinese for staff of such agencies and organizations as the General Department of Tourism, Vietnam Customs, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Hanoi Power Corporation, Canon Inc and some companies belonging to Samsung Electronics Bac Ninh, etc.
Since 2004, the Center has been holding exams and provided certificates in Foreign language for Tourism (12 languages) for 2000 international tour guides in Hanoi and other big cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Quang Ninh and Lang Son.
Since 2012, the Center has co-held around 100 courses in A2, B1, B2, C1 English certificates for graduates, research fellows, staff and officers. It is also authorized to hold exams for international certificates such as IELTS, PET, FCE and CAE.
In May, 2017, the Center was the first in Vietnam to hold the The Oral Proficiency Interview by computer (OCil) in Korean endorsed by The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language.
