Introduction

The Center for Education Quality Assurance was established in August 2006 according to Decision no 1784/QĐ-XHNV-TC on August 21st, 2006 granted by USSH's Rector. The University is the first among the VNU's members that has a specialized unit for quality assurance.

Function

The Center advices USSH's Board of Rectors on developing and implementing the policies and legal documents provided by the State and Ministry of Education and Training, VNU regarding higher education quality assurance.

Main tasks:

  • Study and develop the annual plan for education quality assurance of the University;

  • Design and implement the quality assurance model of the University;  

  • Study and develop the self-evaluation toolset for the University, assess training curricula, assess lectures, etc.

  • Develop plans for assessing and assuring the training curricula according to the standards of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training.

  • Coordinate with other units to conduct surveys on relevant parties.

Prominent activities
Since its establishment, the Center for Education Quality Assurance is the main unit that deals with the assessment and assurance of USSH's quality and its programs as follows:

1. Quality assurance of USSH:

- Quality assurance according to the criteria provided by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2015 and quality assessment according to the criteria set by VNU in 2006, 2009 and 2012.

2. Peer-to-peer quality assessment and evaluation according to different sets of criteria:

- Quality assurance according to the criteria provided by AUN-QA for such bachelor's programs as Linguistics, Oriental Studies and Philosophy.

- Quality assurance according to the criteria provided by Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training for such bachelor's programs as Vietnamese studies and Psychology.

- Peer-to-peer quality assessment for bachelor's programs according to the criteria set by VNU with the support of AUN-QA such as Advanced History, Advanced Literature, Advanced Science Management, Advanced Philosophy and Oriental Studies and Sociology.
