The linguistic culture of Korea and Vietnam has been influenced by Chinese idioms, so both peoples are using many idioms that have been nationalized (i.e., Koreanized and Vietnamized) from Chinese idioms. In the process of nationalization, these idioms reflect the linguistic and cultural characteristics (concepts and ways of thinking) of each people. Therefore, there may be differences in structure and semantics between Koreanized Chinese idioms and Vietnamized Chinese idioms.
