1. Purpose and scope of the thesis

1.1. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the communicative characteristics of Vietnamese police officers through several film scenarios. From this, the thesis contributes to the study of linguistic communication in general, and Vietnamese communication according to the social stratification of sociolinguistics in particular; and contributes to building a communication culture within the Vietnamese People's Police Force.

1.2. This thesis focuses on studying the manifestation of linguistic characteristics of the communicative roles of police officers in formal and informal communication (through several film scenarios) from the following aspects: address behavior and linguistic behavior.

2. Research methods used

The thesis employs the following methods: Discourse analysis method; Analytical and descriptive method; Interdisciplinary method.

3. Main results and conclusions

3.1. Main results

- The thesis has established a theoretical framework on: communication, communicative roles; television drama scripts and the character of the People's Public Security officer in television drama scripts.

- The thesis surveyed, analyzed, and identified the linguistic characteristics of communicative roles within the People's Public Security Force in formal communication, focusing on aspects such as address behavior, linguistic behavior, and a case study of the "I" - "comrade" role pair in formal communication.

- The thesis surveyed, analyzed, and identified the linguistic characteristics of communicative roles within the People's Public Security Force in informal communication in terms of: address behavior, linguistic behavior, and a case study of the "I" - "comrade" role pair in informal communication.

3.2. Conclusion

Through research on "Characteristics of communicative language in the People's Public Security Force"Vietnam(through several film scenarios)”, the thesis asserts: the communication of a police officer is a form of communication that is both formal and informal; both traditional and modern. This is the most profound manifestation of the ingrained Ho Chi Minh thought in preserving the ethics and character of a revolutionary police officer.

- The thesis investigated, analyzed and pointed out the linguistic characteristics of the pair of communication ranks in the People's Public Security force in formal communication in the following aspects: vocative acts, speech acts and researched the case study of "I" - "Comrade" vocative in formal communication.

- The thesis investigated, analyzed and pointed out the linguistic characteristics of the pair of communication ranks in the People's Public Security force in informal communication in the following aspects: vocative acts, speech acts and researched the case study of "I" - "Comrade" vocative in informal communication.

Through the research on " Linguistic Characteristics of communicative Ranks in the Vietnam People's Public Security Force (through several film scripts) ", the thesis states that the communication of the People's Public Security soldiers is a form of communication that is both formal and informal, both traditional and modern. This is the most profound expression in being imbued with Ho Chi Minh's thought in preserving the morality and quality of the revolutionary People's Public Security soldiers.
