In terms of theory: The thesis has systematically synthesized and introduced the outstanding theoretical achievements of modern aesthetics (on the Beautiful, the Sublime, the Tragic, the Comedy) as a premise for approaching literary works from the perspective of aesthetic categories. At the same time, it has proven its feasibility and superiority in studying a specific literary phenomenon and problem.

In terms of practice: The thesis has contributed to clarifying Nguyen Huy Thiep's aesthetic conception of aesthetic categories; Pointing out the unique and rich manifestations of the categories of Beauty, Sublimity, Tragedy, Comedy, Paradox and Crudeness in his works; Establishing the aesthetic nature and aesthetic effects of those categories on the works, on the creative journey of the writer and the reception process of readers. From there, giving appropriate and objective views and assessments on the aesthetic value of the works, on the creative capacity of writer Nguyen Huy Thiep and the role of contemporary readers in a holistic aesthetic cycle.
