A survey of 396 firefighters working in four provinces and cities—Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and Vinh Phuc—revealed some aspects of the current state of adaptation to emergency response among fire and rescue police officers, based on their awareness, attitudes, and actions in emergency situations. The research results showed that the firefighters adapted well to the stressful, urgent, unexpected, and dangerous working environment. Adaptation was more evident in attitude and action than in awareness. The firefighters understood the nature, methods, and procedures for resolving emergency situations. They maintained a proactive attitude, readily accepting orders; their mindset was always proactive, positive, calm, confident, and resolute in carrying out their duties to the end. Their combat actions were highly effective, ensuring the successful completion of assigned tasks. The study also indicates statistically significant differences in the adaptation to handling emergency situations by fire and rescue police officers according to training level, rank, years of service, and area of work.
