- This is the first doctoral dissertation in Religious Studies to systematically and in-depth study the role of Buddhism in the beliefs of the Vietnamese people during the Tran Dynasty.

- The thesis points out the characteristics of Buddhism and the beliefs of the Vietnamese people during the Tran Dynasty.

- Analyze and clarify the religious and cultural beliefs of the Vietnamese people during the Tran Dynasty under the influence of Buddhism in several aspects: court beliefs of the Tran Dynasty and folk beliefs. Point out the values ​​of the role of Buddhism in the religious beliefs of the Vietnamese people during the Tran Dynasty in both of these aspects.

- An assessment of the role of Buddhism in the beliefs of the Vietnamese people during the Tran Dynasty.

- To offer recommendations and solutions for preserving and promoting Buddhist culture from the Tran Dynasty within contemporary Vietnamese religious culture.
