Summary of the thesis results: The thesis "ASEAN Higher Education Cooperation – The Case of AUN" consists of 3 chapters with main contents focusing on the domestic and international context of the history and situation of international cooperation in higher education in Southeast Asia, from the establishment of ASEAN to the present. In Chapter 1, the author addresses the theoretical and practical basis for implementing and promoting international cooperation in higher education, while evaluating the effectiveness of international cooperation in education in general and higher education in particular in the ASEAN region from 1956 to 1990. The author also discusses the role and significance of international cooperation in training and developing high-quality human resources in higher education. In Chapter 2, the author summarizes the strategy of higher education cooperation and the results of cooperation activities in priority areas, interdisciplinary areas, and urgent areas in the ASEAN region. Finally, in Chapter 3, the author assesses the higher education cooperation strategies of countries in Southeast Asia, particularly the more developed countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia. From this, the author offers several suggestions for international cooperation in Vietnamese higher education, specifically for Hanoi National University within the ASEAN region.

Practical applications: This research contributes to providing documentation on one of the important issues in Education and Training, especially higher education in the ASEAN community in general and in Vietnam in particular. It also contributes to research aimed at formulating appropriate policies for higher education in Vietnam in the context of increasingly deep international integration.
