1. History of formation

• The Faculty of Archival Science and Office Administration, formerly the Department of Archival Science, was established in 1967 and located in the Faculty of History, Hanoi National University.
• In 1996, in response to the increasing demand of society for training human resources in archival and office management, the Department was developed into the Faculty of Archives and Records Studies under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
• In 1997, the Faculty's name was changed to the Faculty of Archival Science and Office Administration as it is today.

• Confidence in knowledge, modern thinking: This educational philosophy helps students have a basic theoretical foundation and update new knowledge, have a scientific working mindset with the ability to apply in practice is the motto throughout the training programs of the Faculty.
