1. Main research directions
  • The research focuses on organizational and management measures for document management and archiving in agencies and organizations, especially businesses. Based on this, the Faculty expands its research direction into the field of building and ensuring information systems to support leadership and management activities.
  • Promote research to add new issues to the theoretical system of archival studies; promote and conduct in-depth research on the organization of archives in specialized fields, electronic archiving, digitization of archival documents; documents of personal origin, measures to enhance the value of archival documents...
  • Conduct in-depth and extensive research and surveys on the theory of office management, aiming to identify the training requirements for human resources to work in the office areas/departments of agencies, organizations, and businesses; expand research on the application of ISO in office operations; workplace culture; public service ethics, electronic transactions, etc.
  • Researching theoretical issues of administration in a broad sense (including public administration and especially private administration); conducting in-depth research on administrative procedures, administrative reform, and administrative skills to serve training needs.
  • Expand research on administrative document systems and delve deeper into specialized document types within each industry and field.
  • Enhance the application of research findings from scientific projects to training activities through the compilation, reprinting, and proposed publication of textbooks, lectures, monographs, and study guides to serve as reference materials for faculty and students.
2. Notable workshops, topics, and projects that have been and are being implemented.
  • National University-level research project (QG.16.46) "Research on the scientific and practical basis for the development of archival studies in Vietnam in the context of regional and international integration" (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Phung chaired the project, which was completed in 2020).
  • National University-level research project: (QG.17.56) Assessment of archival materials on China in Vietnam and proposed solutions for accessing, exploiting, and utilizing them (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duc Thuan chaired and the project was completed in 2021).
  • International publication project: Archival Documents about Vietnam in Modern and Contemporary History – Values ​​and Accessible Possibilities (led by Dr. Cam Anh Tuan, currently underway).
  • National University-level research project: (QG 22.36) Oral examination documents on the 1979 border defense war in the North - Documentary value and policy recommendations (led by Dr. Nguyen Hong Duy, currently underway).
  • Published the textbook "Theory of Office Management" in 2021 (Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Thi Phung, Editor-in-Chief).
  • We have successfully organized numerous domestic and international scientific conferences, such as:
+ In 2012, we organized an international scientific conference on the theme "Organization and Promotion of the Value of People's Archival Documents" in collaboration with Gakushuin University - Japan and Myongji University - South Korea;
+ In 2016, we organized an international scientific conference on the theme "Archival materials on Vietnam in the modern and contemporary periods – Value and accessibility" in collaboration with Aix-Marseille University, Republic of France;
+ In 2019, we organized an international scientific conference on the theme "Memories, recollections and archival documents about Vietnam – Humanistic values ​​viewed from multiple perspectives" in collaboration with Aix-Marseille University, France and Texas Tech University, USA.
+ In 2023, we organized a national scientific conference on the theme "Digital Transformation in Office Management" in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
