Attending the training session were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Principal of the School), Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Chairwoman of the School's Trade Union) and nearly 50 delegates from 15 trade unions of affiliated units participating directly and online via Zoom software.
Speaking at the training session, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Principal of the School acknowledged and highly appreciated the idea of organizing a training session for staff of the School's Trade Union, the Professional Board and the Faculty of Information - Library. Principal Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed: this is a meaningful, practical and important activity in research and teaching, contributing to improving the professional capacity of teachers and staff. The School's Board of Directors believes that the School's Trade Union Executive Committee, in addition to the movement activities to connect staff, will have more in-depth activities in the coming time, closely linked to the professional work of staff and lecturers. The School will always support and facilitate the professional activities of the Trade Union as well as make focused investments to promote scientific research work of staff in the coming time.
Citing sources and building a list of references is a mandatory part of a scientific research project. However, managing and citing effectively, especially in the context of huge sources of documents/knowledge in the digital age like today, is a problem that many union members of the School are still concerned about.
Mendeley is a software or more precisely a utility to organize, manage and cite references while writing scientific articles or theses, graduation theses in a "smart, scientific, accurate and time-saving" way, helping staff effectively use Mendeley software in professional work.
Not only discussing the advantages of Mendeley software, a special point in the training session that Master Tran Duc Hoa shared was guiding delegates to practice directly on the device using Medeley software and answering delegates' questions about managing reference sources. The delegates discussed enthusiastically and shared experiences in arranging and using reference materials. The training session helped delegates grasp the skills of operating and practicing using Mendeley software in research and teaching.
