This year's tournament features 16 teams from the Construction Newspaper, various press agencies, press management agencies, and the men's team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - one of the leading journalism and media training institutions in the country. The Construction Newspaper Open Friendly Tournament will take place over two days (June 18th and 19th), with teams competing in a knockout format to select 8 teams for the quarterfinals, 4 teams for the semifinals, and 2 teams for the final to compete for the trophy.

The football tournament commemorating the traditional day of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism was first held in 2016 and has been organized annually since then with the aim of promoting sports training among staff, improving the health and spiritual well-being of officials from news agencies and press organizations. It also serves as an opportunity to strengthen interaction and cooperation among staff working in the journalism industry and between different press agencies.
The opening match of the tournament was held at the Tay Ho District Cultural and Sports Center (address: 101 Xuan La Street, Xuan La Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi). The team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was selected to play the opening match against the Construction Newspaper football team. This match promised to be very exciting and featured many spectacular plays.
