Training course on applying PowerPoint software in creating electronic lecture videos for staff and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On August 16th, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) attended the opening ceremony of a training course for faculty members on the use of software and techniques for designing electronic lectures. Also present was Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Chairperson of the University's Trade Union). The training course was directly led by Dr. Dao Minh Quan (Deputy Head of the Training Department). A large number of faculty and staff from various departments participated in the training, both in person and online via Zoom.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan especially appreciated the practical significance of this training course. Because in the digital age, the teaching staff needs to actively research and apply technology to teaching activities. Currently, there are many useful software that can effectively support in designing electronic lectures, imparting knowledge more vividly, more attractively, suggesting, stimulating thinking and creativity of learners.

According to Dr. Dao Minh Quan: "The goal of the course is that after completing the course, the school's lecturers will master design techniques, design software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Remove.bg, Bandicam...), effectively exploit free resources to skillfully and creatively apply them to building engaging, professional and modern electronic lecture videos."

To achieve that goal, during the training process, Dr. Dao Minh Quan focuses on providing updated knowledge and skills, from basic to advanced in design techniques, image processing, sound effects, professional videos; How to think, use icons to illustrate the ideas you want to convey; Rules of color, how to combine colors in many different styles, main colors suitable for each presentation topic; How to prepare a lecture script; Presentation voiceover techniques and complete video creation. In addition, teachers will be guided on how to use some useful software in lecture design. The following are detailed contents of the training course.

Whether participating online or in person, students received hands-on guidance with vivid, practical exercises. These exercises covered very specific steps such as idea generation and design; idea implementation; and specific technical procedures during execution. Dr. Dao Minh Quan also answered many questions and concerns from students during the practical sessions.

According to the plan, the training course will take place in 4 weeks, with specific contents: Week 1: Image processing techniques, object design, combining motion effects from basic to professional; Week 2: Layout, color coordination and design in Infographic style, Motion Path, Motion Graphic, Parallax, 3D effects; Week 3: Practice designing, dubbing presentations on sample scripts; Week 4: Building scripts, dubbing presentations, combining professional effects and publishing video lectures.

In the sharing of the lecturers participating in the training session, they all expressed their gratitude to the School's Board of Directors for their great interest in organizing courses to improve professional qualifications and skills, especially the application of information technology in teaching activities for the school's teaching staff. This course has contributed to equipping very practical knowledge and skills that can be applied to the daily work of the lecturers. Many difficult problems during the practice process were also answered very specifically and meticulously by the instructor.
