The report stated that during the past term, the Association organized many annual activities and events that contributed to improving the spiritual lives of its members, connecting retired teachers with current staff and students of the school. Despite the complex Covid situation over the past two years, the Association still strived to maintain meetings and exchanges among members, visiting members during illness or bereavement. Members of the Association actively participated in the school's general activities in various fields: training, scientific research, participation in scientific councils, etc. Teachers also participated in many activities in their local communities. These successes were primarily due to the enthusiastic participation of all members, the connecting role, exemplary conduct, and responsible involvement of the branch leaders and teachers in the liaison committees of each branch. In addition, a major reason is the attention of the Association of Retired Faculty Members and the Trade Union of Hanoi National University, the support and facilitation of the Board of Directors and the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the leadership and alumni associations of the faculties.

Regarding the direction of activities for the next term, the Report emphasizes the main tasks: updating the membership list immediately after teachers retire; ensuring smooth communication channels among members; strengthening scientific seminars, cultural and artistic activities, etc., to attract widespread participation from members.

After listening to the reports, the delegates attending the congress engaged in lively, open, and friendly discussions. All opinions highly appreciated and acknowledged the significance of the Association's activities throughout the past term, which have fostered connection, encouragement, and improved the spiritual lives of member teachers, enabling them to continue contributing to the university's professional work (training, scientific research). Mr. Nguyen Hung Vy (representing the Literature, Linguistics, and Journalism Faculty Branch) shared: the bond between former teachers who have worked together for 30 or 40 years is like "salt in the ocean," an invaluable asset that we inherit and have a responsibility to nurture to make it even deeper and stronger. The fields of research, writing, and translation offer significant advantages for continued work and development after teachers retire. Therefore, retired teachers need to continue to unleash their creativity to contribute to the school and society, "repaying the people" and improving the spiritual lives of their members. Mr. Bui Van Lung (representing the Foreign Languages Faculty's Alumni Association) emotionally shared: despite facing many difficulties in the establishment process, the retired teachers of the Faculty managed to contact and establish the association, and subsequently carried out many meaningful activities. This was possible thanks to the dedicated and responsible liaison committee that readily participated in maintaining connections among members; and the effective support and assistance from the Faculty's Alumni Association. This is an experience that the Foreign Languages Faculty's Alumni Association has achieved and wishes to share with other associations.
