Attending the Conference were representatives from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Trade Union: Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao (Vice President of the Trade Union – Standing Committee of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Trade Union), Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), along with all union members and representatives from 21 departmental trade unions.

The 30th term of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities began in March 2017. During this term, with a spirit of innovation, democracy, solidarity, and responsibility, the University's Trade Union set the following goals: “To innovate the content and methods of the activities of departmental trade unions, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of teachers and employees; to widely organize patriotic emulation movements and industry campaigns; to promote and participate in the innovation of management; to train and develop trade union officials, building a stronger University Trade Union, contributing to the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education, and helping the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to soon become a research university.” The proposed direction of action is: “Focus resources and create a strong transformation in the quality and effectiveness of trade union activities; effectively perform the task of representing and protecting the legitimate rights of trade union members to consolidate and strengthen the close ties with trade union members and the trade union organization, contributing to building a strong trade union organization in the socialist-oriented market economy and international integration.”

The conference adopted the preliminary report on the implementation of the Resolution of the 30th Congress of the University's Trade Union (2017-2022 term) presented by the President of the Trade Union - Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh; and the review report of the Executive Committee of the University's Trade Union presented by Comrade Nguyen Van Thuy - Vice President of the University's Trade Union. In the first half of the term, the University's Trade Union has achieved outstanding results in all aspects of its activities: Innovating and improving the quality and effectiveness of political and ideological education and propaganda, promoting emulation movements, strengthening solidarity, mobilizing all resources to build and develop the University; caring for the lives and representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the staff, teachers, and workers. Participating in management, building harmonious and stable labor relations, encouraging union members to actively participate in training, scientific research, and professional development, contributing to the rapid development of the University into a research university... Most importantly, creating a culture of a trade union organization, a united and harmonious union collective, always innovating and creating, effectively organizing large-scale activities, and bringing together many union officials to participate.

Delegates at the Conference affirmed that, during the first half of the term, the University's Trade Union has consistently strived in many activities, connecting union members in common endeavors. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (Faculty of Information and Library Science) stated that the University's Trade Union is a strong collective force, demonstrated through its activities and especially evident during the recent Covid-19 pandemic: the teaching activities of lecturers shifted from in-person to online teaching using software supported by partners. The cohesion among union members is shown through the sharing of difficulties and experiences to achieve the highest efficiency in teaching.
Comrade Hoang Van Thang (Faculty of Philosophy) shared that the school's Trade Union's cultural and sports activities have had many new and outstanding features, with rich and diverse activities such as the "Colors of Humanity" competition, "Connecting Humanity," etc., creating a fresh and unique atmosphere in the spiritual activities of union members. Not only caring for its own members, the School's Trade Union also pays great attention to and organizes activities for the children of staff members on June 1st, Mid-Autumn Festival, and other special occasions.

Union members also shared experiences in implementing activities at the departmental level. According to Comrade Pham Minh Thuy (Faculty of Management Science), the Faculty has been effectively maintaining social and charitable activities. For two consecutive years, 2018-2019, the Faculty organized two charity trips to Lao Cai and Bac Kan to visit, encourage, and give gifts to families in difficult circumstances in these two localities. These are small contributions to enhance the image of the Trade Union and its sharing with the community.
The conference also approved the personnel structure for the University's Trade Union. The conference unanimously voted to maintain the current Executive Committee and not add any new members (the Trade Union Executive Committee, which initially had 15 members, now has 13 members).
Attending the Conference, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Party Committee member and Vice Rector of the University, expressed his agreement and high appreciation for the reports presented at the Conference and the decision to reorganize the Executive Committee of the Trade Union. The University acknowledged that the summary conference was conducted in a frank, objective, and democratic spirit. He also emphasized that the word "Humanistic" speaks volumes about the spirit of the Trade Union's activities. The University hopes that in the coming years, the University's Trade Union will operate even more effectively, contributing to the overall success of the University.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thao (Vice President of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi) shared: "Today, the University's Trade Union can be completely proud of all the expectations that the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the University's leadership have placed in us. Some significant and noteworthy achievements of the 30th term of the University's Trade Union Executive Committee include the Comprehensive Emulation Flag and the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, which are the answer to the results of the activities of the University's Trade Union. But above all, it is the creativity, the spirit of innovation, the collective will, and the solidarity of all union members for the development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In the coming time, the University's Trade Union needs to continue to promote and implement many new tasks in response to the demands of innovation in the education sector. On behalf of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, she extended congratulations to the University's Trade Union Executive Committee and all union members for their efforts and achievements in the past period."

Humbly accepting the feedback and acknowledgments, and expressing her appreciation for the shared opinions, encouragement, and suggestions from the school's leadership, the higher-level Trade Union, and delegates attending the Conference, on behalf of the School's Trade Union Executive Committee, Comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh stated: While the achievements of the School's Trade Union in the first half of the term are highly appreciated, the remaining half will be even more challenging. The Trade Union must strive even harder to maintain and surpass these achievements. Therefore, the School's Trade Union needs to "share more, take more responsibility for its work; care for each other and be more united and committed; and be more substantive to improve the effectiveness of all activities."
