University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its April 2023 university-wide meeting.

On April 3, 2023, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan chaired the April 2023 school-wide meeting. Attending the meeting were the Vice Principals, Secretaries of the Party branches, Heads of the school's affiliated units, and leaders of the various student organizations.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan reviewed the achievements of March and emphasized several key areas that need further improvement in April and the second quarter of 2023.
At the conference, delegates listened to presentations from the Board of Directors and representatives from various departments and centers highlighting the outstanding achievements made in March, while also noting several areas requiring focused attention for completion in April and the second quarter of 2023.
According to Dr. Pham Huy Cuong (Director of the Center for Training Quality Assurance): In the first quarter of 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities completed the official evaluation of 11 ministerial-level training programs and 1 training program according to AUN standards.Awaiting certificationIn their evaluation reports, the External Evaluation Team highly praised the school's recent improvements: the development and innovation of curriculum content, the clear definition of learning outcomes; the attention and support for learners, which have become increasingly diverse and practical; and the regular and impactful community service activities. However, to ensure the effectiveness of future accreditation, we kindly request that units with accredited curricula take note of the following points: the archiving and digitization of all supporting evidence must be fully implemented; the learning outcomes of the curriculum must be regularly reviewed; and specific evidence of improvements in teaching methods and assessment to achieve the learning outcomes must be provided (including tools for evaluating and measuring learner quality when applying improvement measures, etc.).

Ms. Kim Thi Diep Ha (Head of Planning and Finance Department) reminded the units that April 6, 2023 is the deadline for staff and lecturers to verify their personal income tax returns for 2022, and the University will finalize the data and complete the tax settlement procedures on April 6, 2023.

Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam (Head of Training Department) shared: "In the past period, with the active involvement of relevant departments and the enthusiastic support of training units and the Youth Union, many students have obtained foreign language certificates to ensure graduation requirements. In the coming time, we hope that the units will continue to cooperate closely with the Training Department to build on these results. From April onwards will be the peak months for student recruitment, from specialized high school level, university to postgraduate level, so we hope that training units will focus intensely on this work. Regarding the enrollment quotas and subject areas for each training program, a reasonable plan needs to be calculated to ensure both quantity and quality."

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Rector) shared: through the admissions counseling sessions, as well as the interaction on the website and fanpage in February and March, it has been shown that the training programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities attract the attention of a large number of parents and students. In April and the following months before the Ministry of Education and Training announces the results of the National High School Graduation Examination, the University hopes that the leaders of the training units will continue to cooperate and strengthen communication to widely inform parents and students about the 2023 admissions plan. Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong also emphasized some key points to pay attention to in order to improve the quality accreditation of training programs in the future: archiving and digitizing evidence, implementing continuous improvement, and building closer relationships with stakeholders: alumni, employers, etc.

Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong instructed training units to strengthen communication with students regarding the submission of foreign language certificates within 30 days of enrollment so that the University can consider exempting them from the Foreign Language course, in order to ensure students' rights.
 
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Vice Rector) happily announced the results in the fields of science and international cooperation: Four strong research groups of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have been recognized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi as strong research groups at the VNU level, and domestic and international cooperation activities have achieved many positive results. Summer courses are of particular interest to international partners; therefore, in April, the Cooperation and Development Department needs to coordinate with training units to urgently develop specific content and widely communicate to attract a large number of international students and trainees to participate. In addition, it is necessary to review MOUs, evaluate the results of activities, and rank strategic partners to continue signing and promoting activities in practice.

Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong said: In April, we will coordinate with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to launch the project to build the Nguyen Du Cultural Space in Ha Tinh.
 
Associate Professor Lai Quoc Khanh (Vice Rector) noted that in April, the VNU-Eoffice software will be installed and training will be provided to staff and leaders of training units; the installation of the wifi system throughout the university will be completed; and the lecture hall area will be renovated and upgraded to ensure a clean, spacious, airy, and convenient environment for teaching and learning for lecturers and students.

After listening to the discussions and opinions at the briefing meeting, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan concluded by emphasizing several key tasks for April:
- Organize a mid-term review conference combined with the work of consolidating the remaining positions in the Party Committee; complete the installation of the electronic handbook for all party members.
- The Personnel Department should quickly develop regulations on staff communication and promptly issue them for implementation; coordinate with relevant departments for cooperation and development, and for science and technology to implement a training program abroad for staff who are "on the verge" of mastering specialized foreign languages, in order to develop a successor professional team.
- The Training Department will carefully study the 2023 admissions plan, report to the Board of Directors on any adjustments (if any) before finalizing the proposal; continue to review and update the status of students completing the certificate requirements for graduation, and propose options to provide maximum support to students.
- Standardize the organization of examinations for granting Vietnamese language proficiency certificates to foreigners, ensuring compliance with State regulations. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be the focal point for organizing the examinations and issuing certificates, while related units will continue their professional activities as usual, and financial mechanisms will remain unchanged.
- Focus on organizing the "2023 Quality Assurance Conference" effectively, paying attention to post-accreditation issues and quality assurance culture in general; focus on developing the self-assessment report.6 training programs funded by the Ministry of Education and Training..
- Continue implementing the scientific research plan, promote international publications and policy advice; strengthen the linkage between organizing international conferences and postgraduate training; pay attention to developing a guide for student scientific research in accordance with the recommendations of the Accreditation Board.
- Intensify communication regarding admissions for all programs, and communicate about majors with tuition fees based on the new economic and technical standards, so that parents and students are fully informed.
- Review to complete “The administrative staff's work process is standardized."; complete the VNU-Office system across all training units."
