USSH's record high benchmark score is 30 points (Korean Studies, block C00)

Responding to questions from media reporters about this year's entrance scores of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice Rector said: The general score distribution of the whole country this year is somewhat more positive than last year. Compared to 2019, this year the entrance score distribution of the University has increased, some majors last year had high scores such as Oriental Studies (28.5 points for the C00 combination, the highest in the civil system nationwide), this year it is even higher, at 29.75 for the C00 group. Notably, this year the Korean Studies major has its first independent admission with 50 targets with a record high entrance score of 30 for the C00 combination.

Besides the top majors in attracting candidates of the school that still maintain this tradition such as Oriental Studies, Tourism and Travel Management, Hotel Management, Journalism, Public Relations, Psychology..., some basic science majors such as History, Literature, Philosophy, Han Nom... also have a relatively high number of applications compared to last year. In general, social sciences and humanities majors this year received great attention from society with a high number of applications, creating better signals than last year.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities still applies traditional admissions such as C, D and especially admissions to block A for about 1/3 of the training majors. The benchmark score for block C00 ranges from 21 to 30 points; block D from 18 to 26.25 points. Block A01 has majors up to 24.5 points such as Psychology. Thus, this admission season marks an increase in the quality of candidates entering the school compared to recent years, especially the level of foreign language proficiency of students is getting better and better.

In 2020, another special point is that the number of candidates using international language certificates to apply for admission to the school is more than 200 applications compared to the average number of 50-60 applications per year. A quick survey of candidates shows that most of them use the international English certificate IELTS to aim for direct admission or priority admission to the school, which shows the initiative, dynamism and positivity of candidates in preparing carefully for the exam and for the field of study they pursue.

This year, the school has 04 socialized CLC programs (Journalism, Management Science, International Studies, Information Management) with high entrance scores, averaging from 22 to 25 points. This also shows that socialized CLC training is a trend that is suitable for social needs and towards university autonomy. In this aspect, the groups of Social Sciences and Humanities, Arts are also very promising.

Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed: The 4.0 Industrial Revolution makes technology permeate every activity of our daily life. However, humanistic thinking, ethics, culture, art... are the foundation for technology and machinery to be applied effectively, appropriately and create balance in life. The general trend of humanity today, regardless of whether it is in the 4.0 industrial society or not, is that knowledge of social sciences and humanities will become increasingly important.
