Responding to questions from reporters about this year's entrance exam scores for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Rector, stated: The overall score distribution nationwide this year is more positive than last year. Compared to 2019, the university's entrance exam scores have increased this year. Some majors that had high scores last year, such as Oriental Studies (28.5 points in the C00 combination, the highest in the civilian system nationwide), have even higher scores this year, at 29.75 for the C00 combination. Notably, this year, the Korean Studies major, which is independently recruiting 50 students for the first time, has a record-high entrance score of 30 for the C00 combination.

Besides the top-ranked majors that attract the most applicants, such as Oriental Studies, Tourism and Travel Management, Hotel Management, Journalism, Public Relations, and Psychology, which maintain this tradition, some basic science majors like History, Literature, Philosophy, and Classical Chinese Studies also received a relatively high number of applications compared to the previous year. Overall, social sciences and humanities majors this year received significant attention from society, with a high increase in applications, creating a more positive outlook than last year.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities still applies traditional admission blocks such as C and D, and especially block A for about one-third of its training programs. The cut-off scores for block C00 range from 21 to 30 points; block D from 18 to 26.25 points. Block A01 has some programs with cut-off scores as high as 24.5 points, such as Psychology. Thus, this admission season marks an increase in the overall quality of applicants compared to recent years, especially the increasingly better foreign language proficiency of the students.

In 2020, another notable point was the number of applicants using international language certificates for admission to the university, exceeding 200 applications compared to the average of 50-60 applications annually. A quick survey of applicants revealed that the majority used the IELTS certificate with the goal of being admitted directly or given priority consideration, demonstrating the proactiveness, dynamism, and positive attitude of the applicants in thoroughly preparing for the exam and for their chosen field of study.
This year, the university has four high-quality socialized training programs (Journalism, Management Science, International Studies, and Information Management) with high entrance scores, averaging from 22 to 25 points. This also shows that high-quality socialized training is a trend that aligns with societal needs and is moving towards university autonomy. In this respect, the Social Sciences and Humanities and Arts fields also show great promise.
Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed: The Fourth Industrial Revolution has allowed technology to permeate every aspect of our daily lives. However, it is humanistic thinking, ethics, culture, and art that form the foundation for the effective and appropriate application of technology and machinery, creating balance in life. The general trend of humanity today, regardless of whether we are in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution or not, is that knowledge of social sciences and humanities will become increasingly important.
