Ha Anh used to be a student at the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education (GDNN - GDTX) in Chuong My district, a place rarely mentioned in stories of admission to prestigious universities, she quietly wrote her own breakthrough journey. With 28.5 points, she was not only admitted to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities but also became the valedictorian of K69.
Cultural Studies, Faculty of History, and won the prestigious Le Van Huu scholarship.
For Ha Anh, passing the university entrance exam is the key to changing her life.
Extraordinary effort makes for outstanding results.Looking back on her journey from high school to entering a prestigious university, Ha Anh realized that studying hard was not enough, but that it was also a process of learning to believe in herself, standing up after doubtful looks, and always steadfastly pursuing her own choices. For her, each page of a book is not just a word, but also a step that opens the door to the future, where Ha Anh can prove that the starting point does not determine the destination.
Her love for social sciences, especially History, was the first motivation that urged Ha Anh to try. But more importantly, for her, was the desire to change herself, towards a better future. “I studied for the exam for just over two months, studying all night. There were times when I was discouraged, but I thought of my dream school, Humanities, and my parents, teachers and friends, and from then on, I did not allow myself to give up."
Ha Anh has achieved her dream of becoming a student at a prestigious university in Hanoi.
Ha Anh shared that she is the student with the highest exam score in the history of the Chuong My District Continuing Education Center up to now. That is what makes her feel most proud. That achievement not only helps Ha Anh enter the university of her dreams, but also becomes an example for students of the next class to mention and follow.
Although there were times when she felt self-conscious studying in an environment with many social prejudices like GDTX, Ha Anh never allowed herself to stop. She clearly realized that this environment was very different from high school, especially in the quality of friends around her. "My class had both a group of hard-working friends and a group of misfits, which had a lot of influence. But thanks to the enthusiastic and supportive teachers, I always tried to overcome them."
The day Ha Anh got the news that she had passed the university entrance exam with high scores, her whole family burst into joy. "My parents were so proud, they told everyone. Everyone said: studying GDTX still got me into a prestigious university. Hearing that, I was so happy."
Ms. Dang Thi Nhu Quynh, Ha Anh's direct teacher, shared: "She is not only a small flame that warms the spirit of the whole class, but also a nucleus that spreads positive energy to her friends and teachers. She always makes me believe that every student can rewrite their own story."
Ha Anh is extremely grateful to her parents and teachers, who have supported her wholeheartedly in her studies.
The journey never stops moving forwardWhen asked about her exam preparation tips, Ha Anh did not hesitate to share: reading books, listening to video lectures on online platforms, practicing questions regularly and learning from online courses are the formulas that help her master knowledge. "For Literature, I read a lot, listen a lot and write a lot. With History, my favorite subject, I spend most of my time reviewing the main ideas, practicing questions and reviewing them as I go. Finally, for Geography, I tried to learn the formulas carefully and apply them regularly." Thanks to that effective review method, Ha Anh achieved 9.75 in History and Geography, and 9 in Literature.
Ha Anh excelled as valedictorian and received a scholarship at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.
Now a freshman in a vibrant academic environment, Ha Anh admits that she was initially overwhelmed by the talented and accomplished friends around her. However, by proactively integrating and participating in many activities, she gradually adapted to and loved the new environment. Currently, Ha Anh is an active member of the Humanities Event Communication Club - MCUE, the Garnet Event - Reception Club, and actively participates in the Faculty's movement committees.
When asked about her motivation to continue trying at university, Ha Anh answered briefly but resolutely: “Because everyone around me is good, I think I cannot stand still forever. I think about the future, about a stable job, about my parents' expectations. And I know that I cannot miss this opportunity.”
The university environment gave Ha Anh the opportunity to practice and become an active and dynamic person.
Appreciation, gratitude - and a desire to spread
Ha Anh appreciates two things most in her journey: the affection and dedication of the teachers at the Continuing Education Center, who, despite the difficulties, always stood by her side during the exam preparation process; and the fact that she herself has become an inspirational role model for the students who used to doubt themselves.
Sending her best wishes to the candidates in the 2025 high school graduation exam, Ha Anh said: "No matter where you study, GDTX or high school, no matter what your starting point is, we can still achieve what we want if we really try. Think further, about family, about the future, and keep your spirits up. I wish you all good results, worthy of the effort you have put in."
