Culture is the whole creation and invention of human beings, for survival, the purpose of life. Culture is the superstructure so it holds a very special position. Therefore, when talking about culture, we must talk about core values, the quintessence. Culture shows the height and depth of development level, culture is both the driving force and the development goal of each community, of the whole country. In the National Cultural Conference (1946), President Ho Chi Minh affirmed the particularly important role of culture: "Culture lights the way for the nation to go".

On June 24, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province, held a conference to report on the preliminary results of the excavation of Man Bac relic in 2025 at the cultural house of Bach Lien village, Yen Thanh commune (Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province).

Not starting from a “traditional” school to pass the university entrance exam, Bui Ha Anh - a former student of a continuing education school, has quietly written an inspiring story of breakthrough. Not letting circumstances determine the limit, the young girl studied all night, overcame skeptical looks to reach the dream of "University of Social Sciences and Humanities", became valedictorian, and received a prestigious scholarship.

That is the key direction that was highly agreed upon at the Congress of the History Faculty Party Cell for the 2025-2027 term held on the morning of March 11, 2025 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Professor, People's Teacher Dinh Xuan Lam, on the morning of February 25, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) in collaboration with the Vietnam Historical Science Association organized an Exhibition and Scientific Seminar to honor his great contributions to the country's history.

At the end of December 2023, the Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized an Archaeological internship for all first-year students in Quoc Oai district (Hanoi) and Quang Ninh province, including 3 groups, each group of about 30 students. This is an annual activity, part of the training program for students majoring in History and is of great interest to the School's Board of Directors. On December 26, 2023, following the direction of the Board of Directors, representatives of the leaders of functional departments and the Faculty of History visited and encouraged students of the Faculty of History to participate in the internship.

We would like to introduce to our readers a documentary of VTV1 about Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thua Hy - Former lecturer of the Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.

That is the opinion of Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi at the launching ceremony of the book "Hanoi - Biography of a City" by author William Stewart Logan at the 8th Hanoi Book Fair - 2023 held this morning, October 7.

Within the framework of the Vietnammica project, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) welcomed Prof. Marc Bui and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pascal Bourdeaux from the French Institute for Advanced Study (EPHE) to work and give a series of presentations on the topic "Vietnamese History and Digital Humanities: Revisiting and Using Historical Sources".
