[Official] Vietnam National University, Hanoi announces university admission information for 2021.

In 2021, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) recruited 11,250 students across 132 majors/programs in the fields of: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Technology - Engineering, Economics - Law, Medicine - Pharmacy, Educational Sciences and Teacher Training.

1.Admission requirements

- Candidates who have graduated from a Vietnamese high school program (through formal or continuing education) or have graduated from a vocational school (in which, those who have graduated from a vocational school but do not yet have a high school diploma must study and pass the required amount of high school cultural knowledge as prescribed by the Education Law and its implementing regulations) or have graduated from a foreign high school program (authorized by the host country, achieving a level equivalent to the Vietnamese high school level) abroad or in Vietnam (hereinafter collectively referred to as high school graduates).

- Must be in good health to study according to current regulations. For disabled individuals recognized by competent authorities as having deformities, disabilities, or impaired self-reliance in daily life and studies, the principals of schools will consider and decide whether to allow them to apply to programs suitable to their health condition.

- Meet the preliminary selection requirements, if applying for admission or taking the entrance exam for schools/faculties that have preliminary selection requirements.

2. Scope of admissions:Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) recruits students from across the country and internationally.

3. Admission methods

3.1. First Round of Admissions: 

(1) Direct admission, priority admission: According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the specific regulations and admission guidelines of VNU;

(2) Admission based on the results of the 2021 high school graduation exam according to the corresponding subject/test combinations specified in the School's Admission Plan;

(3) Admission by other methods:

- Admission will be based on the results of the aptitude test organized by VNU in 2021 and international certificates (SAT, A-Level, ACT, IELTS and equivalent international certificates – included in the list prescribed by VNU);

- Reviewing company profile(High school academic results, interview, 2021 high school graduation exam scores, or candidates with an International Baccalaureate diploma)This applies to some training institutions that have international collaborations and offer programs taught in English.;

- Admission of foreign candidates who meet the requirements as stipulated by regulations.

Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Ministry of Education and Training(Regulations on attracting and managing international students at VNU issued with Decision No. 4848/QD-VNU dated December 18, 2017 of VNU; Circular 30/2018/TT-BGDĐT dated December 24, 2018 of the Ministry of Education and Training).

3.2. Supplementary admission round (if there are still vacancies)

Admissions will be conducted as in Phase 1; specific admission regulations for each respective major will be published on the VNU Hanoi Admissions Portal and the training unit's website.(if any).

For Talent, International Standard, and High-Quality Programs: Admission will be based on the results of the 2021 high school graduation exam or from other recruitment sources as required by each major/program.(Details will be announced in the unit's 2021 undergraduate admissions plan).After being admitted to training units, candidates wishing to study Talent Programs, International Standard Programs, or High-Quality Programs must achieve the admission score for the corresponding major/program mentioned above according to the corresponding admission combination.

The minimum admission score for these programs is determined by the Admissions Councils, but it must be equal to or higher than the admission score for the corresponding standard program/major.

4. Specific enrollment quotas by training unit.(Quotas by Major/Group of Majors, according to each admission method and subject combination for admission)
