This situation occurs regardless of age, gender, occupation or education level of each person. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that by 2020, depression will be the second disease attacking human health after cardiovascular disease.
Currently, 3%-5% of the world's population suffers from this disease. Half of mental illnesses begin at the age of 14, but most are not detected or treated. According to research by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), about 8%-29% of Vietnamese adolescents suffer from mental health problems.
According to many domestic studies, 87% of children in the research sample have psychological problems. It is estimated that in Vietnam there are at least three million adolescents with mental health problems, but only about 20% of them receive the necessary medical support and treatment.
