Graduates in Public Relations with more than a year of work experience can easily earn a salary of 15-20 million VND per month, and even higher if working for foreign companies.

PR professionals always have the opportunity to learn and stay updated on new things in the vibrant flow of life, while also having rich social relationships and a fulfilling, emotionally enriching spiritual life.

"PR professionals are masters of creativity."

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen - Head of the PR-Advertising Department, Institute of Journalism and Communication Training, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, stated that Public Relations is understood as management activities aimed at supporting agencies, organizations, businesses, etc., in building communication strategies to reach and build relationships with their public and customers.

Professional public relations (PR) has existed worldwide since the beginning of the 20th century, alongside the development of the market economy, but in Vietnam, it is still a relatively new profession.

PR professionals are always admired for their dynamism and flexibility; their excellent social skills; and their ability to both understand the organization and grasp the characteristics of the target audience/customers that their organization aims for.

For clients, they are the face of the organization, a bridge that delivers the most authentic and compelling messages. Internally, they foster cohesion among members, promote information exchange, inspire positive energy in the workplace, and cultivate love and dedication to the organization.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen stated that when discussing the PR profession, people often mention keywords such as science and art.

No marketing campaign is launched or any marketing message is redesigned without thorough research into the needs, desires, emotions, and trends of the company's key audience/customers.

All stages of communication activities must be rigorous, accurate, logical, and consistent with a common goal: to convey the correct spirit and message of the organization.

The scientific approach is also reflected in the fact that, from the organization's core values down to the value proposition of each product and service, there must be a logical connection. The messages defined for each product and each specific service must be aligned with a unified mindset, reflecting the company's development strategy and brand positioning at the macro level.

"PR professionals are masters of creativity," emphasized Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen. There is no room for outdated or repetitive approaches in the PR profession. Communication stories must always be fresh, creative, keep up with current events, anticipate social trends, and simultaneously possess humanistic values.

The artistry of public relations lies in the fact that, in order to convey a message to the public, PR professionals must find many unique ways to express it in order to attract their attention, follow-up, and support.

What is the core of a professional PR practitioner's success? What value does the PR profession bring after days and nights of pouring all their energy into a unique and creative idea, or the hardships and pressures of running a campaign to promote a new product entering the market?

In response to these questions, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen stated that a good PR professional always needs a sincere heart and a desire to do what is best for both their organization and their public.

Their rewards will always be well-deserved when they achieve their set goals, and especially the feeling of satisfaction from constantly experiencing freshness, breakthroughs, and differences in their careers, so that they never find their work boring.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen shared that PR is a demanding profession, requiring comprehensive thinking and sensitivity, which are inherent qualities along with the efforts of each individual to cultivate them. But it is also a profession that, once you fall in love with it, is very difficult to give up. Because what PR brings to those who dare to dedicate themselves to the profession is extremely valuable.

PR professionals always have the opportunity to learn and stay updated on new things in the vibrant flow of life, while also having rich social relationships and a fulfilling, emotionally enriching spiritual life.

The job market is booming.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen stated that job positions in the current labor market for Public Relations students are diverse and attractive, such as: managing press relations and community relations; organizing events and internal communications; assistant for analyzing and reporting on the internal and external media environment; assistant for building and implementing communication strategies in business; brand development specialist; corporate communication management consultant; researcher in communication and journalism; teaching journalism and communication...

In the present and future, information is the main flow connecting individuals, communities, and social sectors. The trend of cooperation and integration in a flat world makes the need for interaction and communication for mutual understanding increasingly strong.

The advent of the Internet and social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube has quickly dominated people's lives and caused communication activities to explode like never before.

Although the public relations (communications) profession in Vietnam is still relatively young, it is experiencing growth of no less than 30% per year due to the ever-increasing demand from businesses and organizations.

According to a report by the multinational consulting firm Pricewaterhourse Cooper, Vietnam has the fastest-growing media market in the world in recent times. Between 2004 and 2009 alone, the value of this industry tripled.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen commented: Graduates in Public Relations with more than one year of work experience can easily earn a salary of 15-20 million VND/month, and even higher if working in foreign companies or multinational corporations.

Not to mention that jobs in the media field are becoming increasingly specialized, such as crisis management consulting, government communications, interpersonal communications, brand communications, marketing communications, digital content creation and management, event organization, etc., which offer even higher incomes.

"Currently, many employers are constantly offering to introduce graduates with attractive salaries, which we cannot meet because most students already have stable jobs by their third year."

"About half of the students try to shorten their training time to just 3.5 years to graduate quickly and start working. The job market for the PR industry will certainly become more vibrant and full of opportunities in the future," shared Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen.
