In modern society, Political Science is a popular field of study because it provides a system of basic and fundamental knowledge about political issues, political systems, political behavior and skills to solve problems encountered in the complex movements of life... This is considered a key social science, rich in theory and practical application.
Political Science - based on a foundation of highly interdisciplinary knowledge, combined with Law, Management Science, International Relations, Sociology, Psychology, Journalism and Communication,... can analyze and forecast politics; research power in national and international relations, theories of great powers and superpowers; provide policy advice to the Party and State.
Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu - Permanent Vice President of the Central Theoretical Council, Head of the Faculty of Political Science said: Political science has been formed in the world for more than 100 years but in our country it is still a young field of study. Therefore, the field of science that studies political history, political decisions, and political processes is very favorable in Vietnam and has good prospects for development.
When studying for a Bachelor of Political Science, students are equipped with general basic knowledge of social sciences and humanities, and are also equipped with in-depth knowledge systems and research methods of the Political Science industry, including:Political theory, Vietnamese politics, International politics, Media politics, Ho Chi Minh studies.

Political science knowledge is needed in many professions.
With a broad and deep foundation of knowledge in Political Science, students majoring in Political Science after graduation are qualified to take on consulting and advisory positions in agencies that plan policies and guidelines of the Party and State; and consulting and advising in agencies and organizations within the political system and socio-economic organizations.
A large number of them do research work in political theory agencies; research and teach Political Science in the Party school system, universities, colleges, and professional and vocational high schools.
Political Science knowledge also helps students firmly participate in journalism and media activities as reporters and editors commenting on current events and politics at central and local newspapers and television stations.
The Faculty of Political Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is the first unit in the university system in Vietnam to train Political Science at all 3 levels: Bachelor, Master and Doctor.
Training and researching Political Science at a leading center of social sciences and humanities in the country, in the process of building the training program, the Faculty attaches great importance to, on the one hand, providing basic knowledge of Political Science, helping students understand the core issues in international political life, national political life and have an analytical perspective, evaluating the political situation in a comparative perspective, but at the same time also attaches great importance to fostering professional skills and political operations.
