This is the second year that Hanoi National University has organized the VNU Olympic competition for high school students nationwide, aiming to motivate and encourage teachers and students to promote their creativity, teach well, and study well; create opportunities for competition and learning to improve the quality of high school teaching; at the same time, discover students with aptitude for subjects to create a source of training, and create opportunities for excellent students to be directly admitted to university-level training programs of Hanoi National University. Compared to the first round of 2021-2022 with 54 participating schools, this year the number of participating schools is up to 81 schools across the country, many delegations come from Kien Giang and Tra Vinh provinces. That shows the attractiveness of the quality of the VNU Olympic competition.
The organization of the direct exam at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the two subjects of History and Literature was prepared very carefully, seriously, thoughtfully, and in accordance with regulations. From arranging the exam rooms, assigning supervisors, invigilators, support staff, medical staff, etc., creating the safest and most convenient conditions for candidates to take the exam.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Member of the Exam Steering Committee) added: The structure of the Literature exam includes 2 essay questions (Social Essay and Literary Essay) with a time limit of 180 minutes; History includes 6 essay questions, including knowledge of Vietnamese history (4 questions) and world history (2 questions) with a time limit of 180 minutes. The exam content will be within the scope of the general education program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and the teaching content of specialized subjects in specialized high schools guided by the Ministry of Education and Training. Before March 8, 2023, the Examination Councils will announce the exam results to the candidates.

According to Decision No. 4412/QD-DHQGHN dated December 31, 2021 on the special mechanism in admission and training for high school and university levels at Hanoi National University, students who won prizes in the above exam and have graduated from high school will be considered for direct admission or priority admission to member universities, schools and faculties of Hanoi National University. Students who won prizes in high school years but have not graduated will have their results reserved until the end of grade 12.
