Deputy Head of Training Department Hoang Van Quynh presented a summary report highlighting the achievements as well as some shortcomings in enrollment work in 2022.
Regarding regular university admissions, in 2022, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had a total of more than 25,000 applications with 5 admission methods, of which 92% of the total applications were based on high school graduation exam results. The total number of admitted and enrolled candidates reached 107.92% of the target, most majors met and exceeded the target. The school continues to be the leading unit in VNU in terms of the number of candidates and applications for admission.
Regarding postgraduate admissions: 2022 was a year of great success in doctoral admissions, with the number of applications and candidates increasing by more than 200% compared to the initial target. The number of applications and admissions through direct admission has increased significantly. 2022 is also the year that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities first applied a new method of admission for master's degrees from traditional entrance exams to selection (combining application evaluation and interviews) and has brought about positive results.
Regarding the 2023 enrollment direction: Based on the 2022 enrollment results and some remaining points, as well as responding to the actual situation when Hanoi National University issued new training regulations with many changes, the School proactively proposed short-term solutions and with some key tasks: strengthening communication and promoting postgraduate training programs on mass media; disseminating changes in enrollment regulations to those in need; having plans to integrate and shorten some difficult-to-enroll master's programs; prioritizing the development of strong programs; needing to build a system of professional interview questions to provide early for candidates registering for postgraduate enrollment so that they can prepare well for the enrollment work.
Representatives of the faculties/departments unanimously evaluated the regular and postgraduate enrollment work in 2022 with many bright spots, achieving good results, some majors have top enrollment scores in the country, basic science majors are often difficult to enroll but in 2022 also achieved and exceeded the target. Good communication work, especially conveying some innovations in enrollment work to learners. To achieve better results in enrollment work in 2023, representatives of the units proposed a number of solutions: it is possible to expand the number of majors enrolling in dual degrees so that students have more choices; increase support for students and graduate students, especially early decision to recognize instructors for each PhD student so that PhD students can study with peace of mind and have more time to prepare for completing their thesis; diversify forms of communication, enrollment consulting, ...

Representatives of the Faculty Boards discussed and proposed some solutions to improve the quality of enrollment work.
Concluding the Conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, on behalf of the School's Admissions Board, thanked the Board of Directors, lecturers and staff of all faculties/departments for their support and efforts in the 2022 enrollment work and emphasized that in 2023, many new points and changes will be applied in the enrollment regulations of the Ministry and VNU, so it is necessary to be proactive in developing appropriate and effective enrollment plans. In order to have more quantitative bases to help adjust the enrollment quotas of the enrollment methods in a reasonable manner, close to the actual situation and needs of learners, and at the same time to improve training results, it is necessary to conduct a survey of the learning outcomes of students of the 5 methods. It is necessary to promote communication and enrollment consulting widely to a large number of parents and high school students, especially for new majors, majors that have been inspected and have tuition fees collected according to technical economic norms.

Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong concluded by emphasizing a number of key tasks in the direction of enrollment work in 2023.
