Despite the cold weather and drizzle, thousands of students from many high schools in Thanh Hoa city and neighboring districts still came to attend and learn about enrollment information at more than 50 university exhibition booths.
The exhibition booth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities received the attention of many students, parents, and teachers from high schools in Thanh Hoa province. Talking with the teachers in charge of admissions at the school, the students expressed their interest in some majors, but still wondered what knowledge they would learn in that major, what qualities they would need from the students, whether they were really suitable, what job opportunities there were, what policies the school had to support students during their studies, etc.? Many students asked questions about the admission methods: Does the school recruit based on high school transcripts? If I win an award in the Gifted Student Competition, what is the school's admission policy and priority points, etc., and many other specific questions. After being enthusiastically consulted by teachers and given suggestions on choosing a major that suits their abilities and interests, the students were very excited, confident and determined to focus on studying well to be able to be admitted to the major they love.
Sharing at the consultation session, Vice Principal Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong said that many humanities majors are shifting in terms of job opportunities as well as social status. For example, psychology is attracting the attention of many people due to the greater demand for human resources in society.
"More and more students need psychological support and counseling. Therefore, high schools are now also interested in opening psychological counseling rooms for students and have high human resource requirements," said Ms. Huong.
