A group of lecturers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities won the "Innovative Educator 2020" award

In the recent 2020-2021 VNU Teaching Innovation Competition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was honored to be one of the units with Projects selected for the award.

A group of lecturers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities won the "Innovative Educator 2020" award

The Teaching Innovation Award at VNU is an initiative of the Center for Educational Cooperation, held annually together with the VNU Teaching Innovation Festival with the aim of encouraging and spreading the spirit of innovation, supporting and honoring lecturers with outstanding initiatives and contributions to teaching and learning activities at VNU.

On October 19-20, 2020, lecturers/teachers of VNU participating in Category 1 (Excellent project on building modules/subjects according to the blended education approach) presented the Project to the Evaluation Council. The 05 best projects were selected and supported with funding for implementation, with a support level of 20 million VND/project.

The project of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, entitled “Innovation of the subject ‘Creative thinking and idea design’ according to the combined educational approach”, implemented by Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature and 09 other members, has become 1 of 05 projects selected for the award.

The Teaching Support Center will award the “VNU Innovative Educators 2020” award to lecturers/teachers of 05 outstanding projects at the event of Teaching Innovation Day at VNU – VNU Teaching Festival (scheduled to be held on January 19, 2021).

Teaching experience and strengths of the author/author group implementing the project:

The project team includes staff with many years of experience teaching literature and art studies at the Faculty of Literature - University of Social Sciences and Humanities, including specific fields: Vietnamese literature, Western literature, Oriental literature, literature and folklore, and art studies.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Xuan Thach - the general manager of the group, is the Head of the Faculty of Literature, has experience in managing and operating projects, working groups, building and developing the unit's training program.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang - in charge of expertise, has experience in managing and operating the Department of Modern Vietnamese Literature, is currently the Deputy Dean in charge of undergraduate training of the Faculty of Literature, has participated in many training courses on pedagogy and innovation such as: Innovative and Entrepreneurial Educator Course of the VIBE Project (one of the VIBE students of the 3rd course selected to study at the UCD Creative Academy, 1 of 20 VIBE innovation ambassadors of phase 2), Training course for Active Citizens and Social Enterprises resource lecturers organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the British Council, 2 ToT courses on Policy Research and Policy and Management organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with the Luxembourg Foundation), is the person who directly proposed and developed the courseCreative thinking and concept designand manage the course's teaching team.

Dr. Dao Minh Quan - the person in charge of technology, is the Deputy Head of the Training Department, has experience in training management and operation, has deep expertise in information technology and teaching technology. The other members of the group are lecturers with experience in teaching and research, are responsible for their work and passionate about creativity, and have the desire to innovate teaching to improve work efficiency. The group of authors has the spirit and experience of teamwork, and has coordinated effectively in many specific tasks of professional practice.

  • Build lectures in the form of digital sketchnotes to promote creativity and personalize lectures for each class.

  • Organize some learning content based on the application of online tools to promote creativity and the ability to connect learners in an online environment.
