Major General Hoang Kim Phung, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, along with the officers and soldiers of the unit, warmly welcomed the delegation. The two sides discussed issues related to the formation and development of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, the peacekeeping activities of the United Nations (UN) in general, and Vietnam's contributions to that mission.

Professor Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the importance, rapid growth, and professionalism of Vietnam's peacekeeping forces in a short period of time. The participation of the Vietnam People's Army in United Nations peacekeeping missions not only contributes positively to the success of defense diplomacy, but also realizes Vietnam's policy of multilateralizing and diversifying its foreign relations. By participating in UN peacekeeping operations, Vietnam shows the world that it is an active, proactive, and responsible member of the United Nations in the process of international integration.

Through presentations by officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and subsequent discussions, the students gained a general understanding of the United Nations' peacekeeping mission, Vietnam's participation in peacekeeping operations, and the prospects of this activity in the future. In particular, the students listened to the stories and experiences of soldiers who had directly served in the Central African Republic and South Sudan, sharing their experiences of living far from home.

Major General Hoang Kim Phung and Professor Pham Quang Minh also agreed to continue strengthening exchange and cooperation activities in the future, linking research with practice to further enhance Vietnam's peacekeeping activities in both theory and practice.

The visit and working session of faculty and students from the Faculty of International Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Vietnam-Japan University is an activity that helps promote research and teaching linked to reality, and also an opportunity to widely promote the image of the Vietnamese soldiers – cultural ambassadors in military uniform – in the context of international integration.
